You should start with testing fuel pressure you may Also wont to replace your fuel filter,.If the fuel pressure test OK the high pitch noise you are talking about is it from the exhaust .if so then chances are that you have a bad catalytic converter ,if bad it may rattle if taped on ,is so what happens is the broken pieces in it turn sideways causing a restriction in the exhaust ,hope this helps you ,please let us know if we can be of any further assistance . Im going to take a stab at this and say to say fuel lock. this condition arises when the fuel filter gets clogged and the fuel stays pressurized in the system and causes the computer to not energize anything because there is fuel pressure present already. try replacing the fuel filter. if you still have a problem your best bet would be to take it in and have them put it on a computer rather than nickel and diming yourself

Headlight replacement on a 1991 pontiac grand am
Sealed Beam Type

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
-
Unfasten the headlight bezel attaching screws, then remove the bezel.
Remove the headlight bezel
To avoid turning the vertical or horizontal aiming screws, refer to the illustration before removing the headlight retainer.

Unfasten the headlight retainer attaching screws, then remove the retainer.
Remove the headlight trim screws then...
... pull the trim off while holding the bulb
4. Pull the headlight out, then carefully detach the electrical connector.
Pull the bulb out far enough to disconnect the wiring
To install:

Attach the electrical connector to the new headlamp.

Place the headlamp into the socket.

Install the retainer, then tighten the attaching screws.

Connect the negative battery cable, then turn the headlight switch on, to be sure the headlights are operating.

Install the headlight bezel and secure using the attaching screws.

Remove spark plugs, clean and regap. (LABLE THE LEADS TO THE CORRECT PLUGS) Or, replace plugs and set gap to GM specs. Any GM service center will tell you what the gap should be. It is probably between 20-30 thousands of an inch.
