It all depends on which system your vehicle is equipped with. There are two different systems: One has slide controls for the MODE (direction) and TEMPERATURE (Hot/Cold). The other has push-button controls.
If you have the slide controls, you may have a cable that has broken or has become disconnected from the mode door under the dash. It is possible also that the mode door itself may be broken.
If you have the push-button controls, The system is similar, but the mode door is actually moved by an electric actuator. The actuator could be bad or the circuits (including the switches and electronic control module) that control the actuator could be bad. The mode door can also be broken on this type. If the mode door is broken it is usually caused by a defective actuator trying to turn the door past its mechanical limits.

Check the fuel pressure. It sounds like the fuel pump is bad. Even with soaked plugs, if you have spark it should still run.

Hello. Change the fuel filter first. Then pour a bottle of a fuel additive called seafoam into your fuel tank. This will clean the entire engine, remove any water, clean the carb, or fuel injectors and more. After you add the seafoam, drive at least 5 miles. If it improves things, repeat the seafoam. J.
Starts then dies
i had this problem with my 93 mazda mpv also... might not be the same problem but worth checking into... try the mass airflow sensor. mine was messed up just enough where i could get it started and then if i let off the gas it would die on me so i had to drive it all the way to my shop while power breaking it at each stop.... was a pretty quick fix for me, was able to rebuild the sensor. the cost of that little beauty is up there i dunno but i guess they were proud of these LOL.

Set timing mazda mpv 1993 3litre 6v
It will be the same as most other motors. Disconnect the belt from the harmonic balancer and turn it til you see a mark (it will be a divit or lines) and line it up with the ones that are right above it. When you do this it will be 50/50 shot that the number one piston is top dead center. There should be the number of the pistons on the intake. Or you can call auto parts store and get the firing order. One more thing that you need to check is that the rotor under the distributor is pointing at the plug wire that goes to the number one piston. Those three things all lined up will do it.
93 MPV 6cyl is surging constantly
Hi there;
It sounds like you have an engine cylinder missfire. The spark plug wires are the most common cause of the issue you are discribing.
I recommend you have the spark plug wires, distributor cap & rotor replaced. If you haven't replaced the spark plugs reciently It would be a good idea as poor plugs can cause the other parts I listed to fail.
Good luck, hope this helps
Farrout!
