well there is usually an easy way to tell....pop the hood and look on teh intake manifold usually it will say and should say 2.0L dohc or sohc ill check my resources and let you know if it doesnt tell you....let me know :)
2002 ford focus bad acceleration
Have you ever thought that you may have warped the head or blown part of the Head Gasket? When you lose compression, you lost power and it reacts EXACTLY how you described...Pull all the Spark Plugs and see if ANY of them (I am betting 2) look PERFECTLY CLEAN., Different than the other 2Smell the Exhaust.... Does it smell SWEET ?

hi you are faster removing the gear 2 secs of a job, then undoing the 8mm bolt ontop of the headlight and then two torx screws on the side of the light then the full headlight unit will just lift out regards
Change rear signal bulb on 2002 ford focus wagon
Open the rear tailgate There are 2 screws that hold light housing in place.. Remove the screws then pull the housing outwards till the clip behind it springs. You then need to knock the housing sideways (outwards) to free the 2 prongs that attach housing to the car body.
Unclip the rear housing from the back of the light unit & change the bulb.

have you tried having your fuel injectors cleaned on it. the engine might not be getting enough gas at take off. it might also be that your gas tank fuel pump or the other fuel pump going bad

The radiator fan is most likely to blame. When the temp goes above the normal level the fan should kick on.. If it does not, you need to troubleshoot the rad fan. (Under hood etectrical box, fuse / relay/ etc.)
Also there are 2 of them (fans). The 2nd one is a booster for when the AC is on, to dissapate more heat. Try turning on the AC and see if 2nd fan kicks on. This can often help prevent serious overheating.
