1996 dodge grand caravan died while driving, wont turn over? WHAT DOES TURN OVER MEAN TO YOU? STARTER DEAD OR ENGINE DEAD ONLY.

I had similar problem with Durango and replaced the "brain" with a refurbished PCM -- google for reburbished PCMs and call the Florida Company and ask they guys there what they think. My fix was < $300.00 by replacing the brain.

Van starts and then dies like it has no fuel, then

If you had any transmission repair done to the car check that they tighten the crankcase cencer down proper, some times the just start the bolt in and forget to tighten it, and you never know if it will start or not, also it will just stop running as you are driving or making a fast turn

Why does the rpms on my 96 dodge grand caravan just keep going up when driving

It is common for rpm's to increase, as the acceleration increases... That is when the transmission comes into effect, when the RPMs increase, the next gear is then shifted into. if the RPMs continue to increase, then the transmission is not shifting. It's possible that you have a transmission or torque converter problem.

I have an 1996 grand caravan. We have replaced the blower motor, relay and resistor pack, and still doesn't work. There is only a clicking sound coming from it. Can anyone help shed some light on this

Has to be a problem with the wiring going to the blower, verify you have power
Also the wiring has to be correct and grounded properly to work

Hope this helps?

What does IOD stands for

I found that it is probably a fuse called "Ignition off draw". Chrysler uses that fuse for radio memory, dome lights, etc.... This fuse is usually removed when the car will be stored for a long time so the battery is not drawn down.

Why do i hear a dinging sound when apply brakes on 1996 dodge grand caravan ??

Noise is caused by brakes wearing. Either brakes shoes are worn, disc is out of round. Sound you hear is metal rubbing on metal, never a good sound. Contact auto repair or brake shop for repairs immediately

Just put a new delphi fuel pump in my1996 grand

Not likely. It is also not likely that the regulator is in the fuel pump assembly. Some people mistake the check valve in the pump as a regulator. Also, some vehicles have a pump module which includes the fuel gauge sensor and that can be mistaken as the regulator by some DIYers. The caravan uses a return-loop fuel system. This means that the pump is cycling fuel from the tank to the fuel rail on one line and the fuel that is not needed at the injectors flows back through another line to the fuel tank. This is done to prevent the pump from building up too much pressure and allows the fuel flowing through the pump to keep it cool. Because of the looping system, there needs to be a flow restrictor (aka regulator) at the fuel rail to provide a constant pressure source for the injectors. The regulator is normally at the end of the rail and will have a vacuum line attached. Pull the vacuum line, place a rag at the vacuum port, and crank the engine. There should be no fuel coming out the port. If any fuel comes out of the vacuum port, the regulator is faulty. The regulator could still be faulty even if there is no fuel from the port, but fuel leakage is an easy way to be sure. If the regulator is not providing proper restriction to maintain pressure, then the fuel simply flows in a circular loop from and back to the fuel tank without enough pressure to allow the injector to do their thing,
