Trailblazer serpentine belt diagram

Hi, first, keep this diagram around as you will need it to route the serpentine belt when you reinstall it. There may also be a diagram under the hood by the radiator.
Next, follow this link and watch the video that shows you how to replace a serpentine belt...

key was stuck in the ignition. I was finally able to remove the key but now when I put the key back in the ignition, can't turn car on. HELP!!!!

under the steering column, there are three or four little holes in the plastic covering. If you look inside, one of them (the one on the right side toward the dash) there is a brass pin inside. This is the pin to release the key. As far as the key not turning, I have had the same problem. The first time I replaced the ignition switch and that solved the problem. However, this makes no sense because the ignition switch has nothing to do with the tumbler being locked. GMC thinks that my anti theft system, which is inside the ignition cylinder is the problem. By removing the ignition switch, it reset the pass lock anti-theft system and temporarily fixed the problem. So, try removing the ignition switch and then plugging it back in. If that doesn't work, your in the same boat as I am, and we may both need new ignition cylinders.

I have only tried one time to used the spare tire and we could not get the tire lowered. The service department said I need a new hoist but it had never been used before. Is this a common problem and what good is the spare if it cannot be lowered when needed?

Same thing happened to me on my 2002 trailblazer. The last few wraps of the cable was corroded to the point that it wouldn't unwind with the tool supplied. First thing to do is cut the crimped end of the cable off with a grinder or cut off wheel but don't forget to support the spare. This will get the spare out of your way then simply take out the 3 mounting bolts for the cable hoist. At this point you could buy a new cable hoist from the dealer and install it yourself or you might be able to do what I did. I managed to pull and remove about a foot of the rusted cable, slide the rectangular metal piece, that actually holds the spare at the center of the wheel, back on the cable and attach a 1/4" cable clamp to the end of the cable which of course must be in good condition. There should still be enough cable to re-attach your spare to it and hoist it back up. Don't forget to lube things up so it won't happen again. Good luck. (buying a new one sounds better, doesn't it?)

I know this sounds like the old joke...how many___ you fill in the blank.. does it take to change a light bulb? I have a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer, and I can't remove the license plate lights. I removed the lense covers, picked up new bulbs (2825LL) from my local auto parts store, and compared them to what the dealer sells for twice as much. So, I have what should be the correct part, however what's in place appears to have a plastic base on the bulb, and the replacment doesn't. I have tried twisting out the bulbs, tried pulling straight out, all with no luck. So what's going on.

I just had the same problem. I took the cover off, saw the white bulb base, twisted it to take it out, but it popped back inside the door. I got it out, but it wouldn't pull through, so I twisted it back in place and went to Autozone to get new bulb. Once I saw the new bulb, it was obvious, just the bulb itself pulls out. There's so little room to work, I couldn't get it with just my fingers - - maybe rubber gloves would have worked, but I used pliers, lightly, wiggled it a little and it popped right out. I had a similar issue once with the taillight bulb and had to break the bulb and then grip the remaining filament wires with pliers to get it out, so that was my backup plan, just in case.
Hope this helps others.

Trouble codes p0340 and p0014 for a chevy trailblazer engine keeps either idling up real fast or trys to die
Posted by nofear0611... on
You need to check the cam phazer and see if it's damaged. Lots of the time it leaks oil into the connector and messes up the wires. Also I've seen the oil control screens come out of the phazer and go into the engine, which will also set the coeds. If I were you I'd pull the phazer out and see if all 3 of the oil control screens are there. My bet is one will be missing. Make sure to change the oil too. You may get lucky and it will have made it to the oil pan? Other wise I wouldn't worry too much about it. Most of the time it will not cause any engine problems. Good luck, oh and you do have to pull the power steering pump off to get the phazer out. But you can just take the bolts out for the pump and let it fall down so you can get the phazer out!

i have 2002 chevy trailblazer lt the abs light stay on
Posted by sexylegend... on
Most likely one of your ABS sensors are dirty or the wire has corroded. Common for the sensors to get dirty since there magnetic and a simple cleaning will fix this. The ABS sensors are on each wheel on the inner side and can be cleaned with brake parts cleaner. If there was rust from the rotor or dirty that got in between the speed ring and sensor, you most likely have to replace the sensor.
Start with cleaning and inspecting the sensors, it my just be dirt build up and the sensor needing realignment which is a quick fix. After that and you still have the ABS light on, one of your sensors have gone bad. Go to Auto Zone and buy the brake parts cleaner and have them scan your trailblazer for which ABS component when bad to help address which sensor it is and yes they scan free of charge.
Thank you for using fixya.
