Shift Lock Release
This vehicle is equipped with a shift lock release system.
If your vehicle has a dead battery and you need to
have your vehicle towed, there is a shift lock release
lever that will allow you to move the shift lever out
of PARK (P).
To access the shift lock release lever, do the following:
1. Press on the sides of the boot around the shift lever
to release the boot.
2. Lift up the boot on the shift lever and you will see an
orange lever.
3. Press the orange lever down and move the shift lever
out of PARK (P).
4. Snap the shift lever boot back in place.

You will either have to have a metal shop fabricate new mounts and have them grafted in, cut good ones out of a salvage truck and have them grafted in, or completely replace the frame with a good used one out of a salvage yard.

I would begin by looking at the fuses. Check for one labeled ECM or PCM... Those are the computers that control engine management. There are also fuses for the coil packs and fuel injectors.

If you are asking how to do this, it is not easy, it is very complex and takes a long time. The big points: Drain the coolant, disconnect battery, take off the intake manifold, take of the exhaust manifold, remove the head, clean the head and check for warp and cracks, clean the block and remove all debris from cylinders, install gasket, put head back on, put manifolds back on, replace coolant, change oil, connect the battery. You may have issues with bolts that break or strip out the block, you should send the head in to be checked, the valves and springs should be checked and those seals replaced, you need special tools and reference materials.

You'll need a helper for this. Refill the reservoir. **Keep the blazer in park with the E brake on.** It might help if you raise the front end onto axle stands. Run the engine so the power steering is active. Get you helper to turn the steering from lock to lock, hard left to hard right and back again. Do this 2 or 3 times. While they do this have a look at all the pipe work you can see, WEAR SAFETY GOGGLES if your under the car. Working the steering will show where the system is leaking.
