check oil first. If it looks like a milk shake, its most likely head gaskets. (worst case besides a cracked head/block)could be many things. Check upper & lower radiator hose connections. (upper to water neck...lower to water pump)Check the heater hoses on the passenger side going from intake & water pump into the firewall. (should be a 3/8" size hose)Those are a more common leak on the GM vehicles)if you hear a knocking or fast tapping noise, it could be the bearing in the water pump, and you could be leaking from the water pump flange at the front of your motor. Take it in to be check out, It could be one of the brake sensors causeing it to stay on ,Or have someting to do with the work that you had done on it,

in the cylinder block and the cylinder head ,dont forget the one behind the flywheel

Usually the black wires are ground

Fallow your Top Radiator Host toward the engine, The thermostatshould be at the end of that hose. Be sure you replace the new onejust like you took the old one out !!!

( I have 1997 gmc sonoma 2.2 ) i had the same problem last week.i replaced one side of my coil pack, got it from napa part store paid 40.00 dollars truck is running great! if i had the $ i would have changed both.and make sure you use the grease that comes with it.

if you can get oil pan off ,no you may have to unbolt motor mounts and lift engine up to get clearance.
