Smell fuel leftside of engine

spray carb cleaner on the motor as it is running. Fuel leak will be more noticeable and engine will try to die when spraying. May be a bad throttlebody gasket at the base and it's not letting you see it.

My heater works fine but I have a film on the windowshield when it is in defrost .

If you clean the glass, and the film comes back, yes it could be coolant leaking from the heater core.

97 Chevy S10 rear end squeek that goes away when brakes are applied

If you have rear disc brakes, one of the rotors could be warped and causing the pads to move in the caliper. You should be able to remove one wheel at a time, lock down the rotor with the lug nuts, and put the trans in low gear or reverse to listen for the noise.

Need wiring diagrams for 1997 Chevy S10 ZR2... no matterwhatIdobattery keeps draining, and cannot get interior lights to shut off and cannot get backup lights to work.....

I have a similar problem right now on two vehicles! I discovered the problem I have is with the after-market radio! It is wired into the electrical system some way I do not understand. May I suggest a temporary solution while you continue to ask until you find the real problem? Please remove the bulbs of the interior lights, unless there are too many of them or you can't find a way to do that. ALSO, if you will disconnect the battery each time you are finished driving, and re-connect it when you are ready to drive again, that will save you a lot of frustration while you are waiting to find the fix.I think you should not see a spark when you touch the un-hooked battery cable to the battery. If you do, the short is still there.
