Already replaced the left brake light bulbs on 2004 Pontiac grand am. They only light up if left turn signal on, which is same 4 bulbs I need to light up for the brakes. Any other suggestions??

All rear brake lights on the GM vehicle line go through the Directional switch inside the column. I have found this to be bad on some N-Bodies... but also if it has a separate Hazard flasher unit and switch, you may want to try that first.. easier to replace and less expensive... all brake lights and directionals go through that unit as well.

Where is the fuse for the cruse control

No its called A cruise control module. That's a computer. Don't convict the module before having properly diagnosed. It could be anywhere from the cruise control activation handle/switch to the module to the wheel sensors. It wouldn't be fair to you by PC. If you want to ck fuses, ck all the fuses. Under the dash, and under the hood.

Steering lock issue

Try spraying some silicone lube spray into the lock. Don't use wd40 or CRC. They will wash out any of the grease in the lock and make it worse! The lock is probably worn out.

Where is the thermostat on a 2004 Pontiac grand am, 2.2l engine

The thermostat is in the top of the engine where the rad hose goes into the top of the engine. Thermostats will not cause the fluid to go down unless it is leaking. Check under neath the front of the car and see if you see fluid leaking any place. Check all rad and heater hoses. Check around the water pump as it could leak as well Check all around the radiator as it could leak as well. Don't tear any thing apart until you know where the fluid is leaking or it could cost you a lot of unnecessary money. If you do not see any leaks I feel you should let a mechanic check the engine out as you could have a blown head gasket which is a bad thing to have to repair.

Where would I put the light bulb or fuse for the speedometer and the radio they are both dim

THis is not a fuse or a bulb problem. IF you have normal lights in some spots and dim lights in other places, it is usually a sign of a bad connection in or under the dashboard. It can be a real problem finding the issue. There are electrical connection points called buses. They have multiple wires connected to them and they come loose or get corroded.

I have an 04 Pontiac Grand Am. I bought the car this way. Somehow the stereo is hooked to the headlights. My stereo stopped the other day and now my alternator is not charging my battery. Any ideas?

I would remove your alternator and have it tested. As far as your wiring problem....no one likes to fix another persons screw up, you need to find a competent wiring person, like maybe someone from your local stereo installation shop. Just make sure they know what they are doing or they could make it worst.

Simple AC recharge question

Refilling a cars AC system is a specialised job and should not be handled by the owner ,you need a special machine to regas a vehicle where you drain it and measure the amount of gas in the system then add oil and leak dye then regas to the correct weight of gas. Here in europe you cannot buy a can of gas as its classed as a dangerous substance ,only a authorised garage can purchase gas in a 12kg cannister to refill the AC machine and the operator must hold a certificae to use the machine ,so to check out why and what you must take the vehicle to a authorised garage .
