2002 pontiac grand am not starting
My brother's 02 grand am 2.2L would not start. Car has spark, fuel pump works,good battery, plugs and plug boots new, new fuse for the fuel pump in the fuse block under the hood, everything seems to work but car won't start, crank sensor fine timing chain fine etc... The problem was a security issue. Security light on dash was blinking when trying to start the car but car won't start. The fix for me was Attempt to start the car by turning the key to the Start/Run Position. Observe that the vehicle fails to start and that the security light is blinking. Release key to the 'ON/Accessory' Position. (DO NOT turn key to the 'off' position.) Allow the vehicle to sit with the key in the 'ON/Accessory' Position for no less than 12 minutes. Turn key to off position and allow the vehicle to remain in the 'OFF' position for no less than 30 seconds. Then try to start the car. I was surprised this worked for me. 2002 pontiac grand am 2.2L. My coolant light wont go off
Need more info , did you drain it and add filled it up, change your T stat, or was it low and your light came on ?
if you changed it, there are air pockets that get in the system, so you need to let it run with heat on and radiator cap off to get them out.
Now if it was low and your light came on, it could of just been low, or head gasket, cracked block, with a cracked block you would see coolant on the ground.one easy way to check for a head gasket, check your oil, see if its over filled, see if oil is thinner, if oil on dip stick has bubbles, must of these is signs of a blown head gasket.
Why won't my 02 pontiac grand am with a 2.2 L start or turn over?
The whining sound you hear is from a loose timing chain.It is a very distinctive sound.When you are driving the car the motor takes up the slack because its under load and the sound is less.The timing chain has become stretched over time and needs to be changed.I would also have them do the chain adjuster and any other wear part(such as a water pump on some cars) that can only be gotten to with the engine cover off.IF the chain becomes stretched any further(or god forbid snaps) you could be looking at a whole lot of damage and a lot of money to get it fixed.good luck
TRAF DASHBOARD LGHT STAYS ON
If someone didn't turn Traction Control off by means of a button, it is telling you Traction Control is OFF or malfunctioning. Instrument panels lights are supposed to illuminate as a lamp test for a couple of seconds each time you start the engine. If the Traction Control is not operational you should have it checked by a dealer, they are familiar with your car and have likely seen this before. Traction Control is an important safety feature that needs to work properly to help you avoid loss of control while driving in slippery road conditions.
WHERE IS THE DIPSTICK ON A2002 GRAND AM?
The oil dipstick is just about in the center of the engine compartment and is yellow.
The transmission dipstick is close to the firewall near the center of the engine compartment and is red.

Rough idle
Vacuum leak, dirty or clogged EGR valve, bad coil pack, bad wires, are a few things to check. I am assuming the plugs are okay. Good luck !
Wiring a replace 2000 Pontiac Montana engine to the injector
If all is the same as these cars sold in the US, the pink wires to all injectors is a splice from the same pink wire coming from the injector 10 amp fuse in the under hood Accessory Junction Wiring Block. This fuse and the pink wires should be hot in run or start-check them with the key on. The other wire at each injector is the ground wire, and each runs separately into the PCM.

I'm sure there's a combination of thing's they would like you to do but what I always do to reset anything is to simply take the battery cable of the battery for about ten minutes and hook it back up it usually resets everything,hope this helps
Where is the secondary fuse box in a 2002 grand am
There are 3 fuse boxes on this car. One is under the hood. Then there are two on each side of the dash. Open the door, look at the side of the dash. One on each side. Pull the panel and you will find the fuse panels.

when you open the driver door left side of the dash has a little door cares small fuses .also under the hood left side of the engine front of the master cylinder behind the air filter house box has fuse and relay box.
