SOULDS LIKE EXCESSIVE EXHAUST BACK PRESSURE CAUSED BY A RESTRICTED CAT CONVERTOR. SHOULD HAVE NO MORE THAN 1.5 TO 3 PSI CHECKED AT THE O2 SENSOR AT IDLE AND AT 2500 RPM. THE CONVERTOR CAN BECOME DAMAGED IF UNBURNT FUEL ENTERS IT. THIS IS CAUSED BY TUNE UP CONCERNS USUALLY.

Replacing starter in 98 nissan 200sx
borrow some ramps you need to get under to remove the starter. also ask for some one to give you a push start. failing that you will need a jack and lift up the car to get to the motor.

Car is making a rattling noise when gaining speed.
The trans. will have a drain plug on the bottom of case and a fill plug about halfway up on one side of the case. Usually a large socket needed for this, like about 21 mm.
You need to check the owner's manual or with Nissan to see what kind and amount of fluid to use, whether gear oil or what. If it's gear oil, you snip the top of the cap off and use a small hose (like a vacuum hose) over the cap. squeeze the bottle to dispense through the hose into the gearbox. If that is inconvenient or difficult, you might need a cheap hand held plunger type pump.
You fill the box just until fluid starts to ooze out the fil hole. Then put the plug in and done.

What is the valve setting on 1.6 ltr nissan enginevalve setting
Look on the exhaust manifold or on the exhaust pipe attached to it for the oxygen sensor that the computer uses to keep the air/fuel mixture at optimum. And then there will be an oxygen sensor in the exhaust pipe after the catalytic converter. This sensor is used to monitor the efficiency of the converter. The sensors will be the only thing in the exhaust that has an electrical connector.

Rear window defroster broke in 1998 nissan 200sx se
There is on the after market a repair kit which has conductive tape and electro conductive adhesive. The tape is very similar to that used by alarm engineers on glass protection. Could be possible to solder a tag back onto the element, have to watch the heat and the glass!!!!!!!!

Need to check transmission fluid
There is a filler plug on the side of the gearbox casing. Remove it and fill the oil until it overflows. That is the filling level.

The boot that covers the "CV Joint" has been detached.
When the rubber boot tears/woreout it allows the grease from the cv axle to be thrown out. The axle will not last long at highway speed. You can buy a temp boot but they do not last long.If you can do it yourself.Go to a parts store like autozone and get the complete cv axle.It is a complete rebuild with enter and outer boots. Or buy the parts and take to a garage. If you can afford it do both sides..

1998 nissan 200sx se service engine soon light came on while driving but seems to be running fine
The engines computer has detected a problem with a sensor or system that it monitors or controls. You have three options to get the codes that will help you determine what's wrong 1. You can buy an inexpensive code reader for about $50 and pull the codes yourself. 2. You can call your local parts store to see if they can pull codes for you. 3. You can visit your local repair shop or dealer and have them perform a diagnosis. There is usually a set fee. They will pull codes, run some tests, and pinpoint the problem for you. Let me know what you figure out. I’m happy to assist further over the phone at
