Hello, i hope you can help me.
Can i adjust idle speed in this engine nissan ga15? if the answer is yes where is the adjust screw location?
rpm in my car (nissan sunny mod 1996) si too low, replace spark plug, cables, etc, sensors its ok, but rpm still low.
Tank you very much
The idle speed is computer controled, it is not adjustable, you most likely have sludge in the throttle valve and the idle speed control air bypass valve, clean them with carb spray with the engine running.

Hey guys, I have a 1996 Nissan Sentra and it doesn't have sparks. Me and my father-in-law changed the head gasket and ever since we can't start the engine. We don't have any spark. We put new crankshaft position sensor, new distributor and still nothing. I measured the 6 pin connector to the dist. and I have voltage on #5, also on one of the 2-pin connector to the dist. All the fuses are OK. What else could possibly be? I was thinking about the output signal from the ECM to the distributor, if any? Can someone give me a clue? Thanks.
Do below to determine if its fuel or spark issue
Disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine -have
helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you
have a fuel related problem, check the fuel pressure
to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to
the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping
blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to
the coil/coil packs, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module,
cam and crank sensors- Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it

96 nissan sentra i need to locate the starter and supply direct power but i don't know where the starter is or what wire to supply the power to
it should be underneath your car in between the firewall and the engine. Now you don't want to supply direct power to your starter because you'll end up frying it. However to just start the car once you've located the starter, get a long screwdriver with a plastic handle and connect the two wires with the screwdriver.
As for a long term fix, without investing the money to replace the necessary parts. You will need to attach a wire that can handle 12v to both wires on your starter separately. Then connect the other ends of both wires to a switch that can handle 12v, and mount that in your car somewhere. Then whenever you need to start your car just flip the switch on until the car starts then once it is started flip it back off.
I know this sounds like a lot but it is very doable with about $5 and a little bit of time.

Hello all you experts out there,
My Nissan Sentra '96 GXE is making a squeaking noise while the engine is on and idle. As I press the accelerator it goes away and then comes back when I take the feet off. Under the hood I can tell it is comming from the passenger side where there is the cluster of pulleys. Now, where should I start?. Easy one would be idler and then alternator and so forth. I put in a brand new alternator two years ago. What do you guys think could be the problem?.
It could be a couple of things.
Check your temerature guage. If it looks odd then it could be the water pump. If it is not that the next thing to check would be the tension pulley. Remove the belt and spin the pulley.

Hi,
I have a 1994 nissan sentra lec. Problem happens whenever I do long drives, especially during hot days. It just shakes up and dies, giving me the impression that it just lost power. Then it wont start. After letting it cool down for about an hour or two, it runs again.
Battery is ok though, the lights, radio, and horn are coming up just fine. Someone told me it could be the carb, so I had that cleaned up. Still, the problem persists. Then some other guy told me it was some "coil", though I'm not sure what that is.
I hope you can help me on this. Had me spending a few on tows.
There is no carburetor on your car, it is fuel injected. Your coil is what fires the ignition. You can buy a Haynes manual, which has a troubleshooting section in it, but it sounds to me like you aren't really too sure around cars, so i'm going to suggest you find a reputable mechanic to take the car to. It may be a simple problem, but if you aren't comfortable working on cars, the mechanic is the best route. i'm sorry not to be of more help, but problems like this one can be caused by a variety of things only diagnosable while with the car to test as you go.
Regards,
matt

How to change a cv axle on a 1996 Nissan sentra
Below are some instructions and pictures for you. I'm not sure which one you are having to replace but if you are needing to replace the left (drivers) side and you have an automatic transmission, you will need to remove the right axle to "pop" out the left one. Also in the picture (the first one) it looks as if you can just use some sort of a breaker bar to loosen the locking nut on the axle. In my experience I have found that next to impossible and you will need to get some sort of an impact (electric or air) to loosen that nut as they are prettty tight not to mention how many miles and years they have been on there. Also on those same nuts, it takes a special socket to be able to go over the axle to reach the nut. They normally come in a 30, 32 34, or 36 mm sizes. Thses are the largest pictures and such I was able to post as there is a size limit on here (150KB or smaller) so if you need larger pictures or instuctions, feel free to email me directly at [email protected] and I will be happy to send larger ones. I hope this helps.....
