How difficult would it be to switch my Nissan Altima 5 speed 2.5 engine to a 3.0 Auto

It is more trouble than it is worth complete wiring harness, computer, power steering in a different location, a/c system is different, exhaust, transmission different. It is much easier and cheaper to put in what came out.

After driving for 30 minutes i smell smoke inside the car

Depends on what kind of smoke. Sounds as you may have a small oil leak that is running down the engine and landing on the exhaust. When it drips on the hot exhaust it will smoke

Where do I fined the filler to fill the power steering up

Usually there is a reservoir with a (black) cap that partially turns on/off. It may have a short dip stick attached to the underside of the cap for obtaining the correct fill level.Look for smaller hoses that go down near the firewall and also to the power steering pump which has a belt that drives the pulley. The common point where the hoses meet will be the reservoir.

1996 Nissan Sentra doesn't have sparks

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, to my understanding, 1995 to 1997 Sentras share the same ECU (except the '97 1.6L). Below ECU pin configuration may be of help.

Additionally, depending on the regional version that you have, the '96 Sentra may be sharing the same electronic ignition with an Altima. If so, this might interest you.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

Removal of brake light switch on nissan sentra

If you follow the lever that has the brake pedal on it toward the top of the dash board (about 6-8 inches up from the pedal) you'll see a hole with a metal button. That means the plastic piece that fits over the button has broken or fallen off, and when you hit the brake the button is too far away for it to turn on the brake lights. You can buy plastic buttons for the brake light control at any auto parts store. Or put a piece of sticky tape between it and your brake lights should work again. If you are guessing if you have the right button, press it and have someone see if the brake lights go on.
