vehicles of this age normally have a speedo drive mounted in the extension housing( back of the gearbox) this will have a plug normally with 3 wires on it, if this connection is not connected and working neither you speedo or trip meter will work. this will also affect your gear change, fuel economy the whole kit and caboodle. earlier cars use a speedo cable and later models use GPS(no visable drive at all)

yes it will, your wheel alignment is out to blazes, you will wear your tyres out really fast and your steering will be vague. very dangerous. very hard to straighten the drag link safely because once straightened will bend easier next time. My recommendation is replace the drag link and have the wheel alignment done by a professional

Carolyn, you can search online for "1991 Nissan NX Wiring Diagram" and download (for a fee) the OEM wiring diagram manual, or you can go to a larger auto parts store that carries Haynes manuals and buy the one for your car. Not only will it have an accurate wiring diagram, but will have illustrated sections covering all mechanical and electrical systems of your car. Good luck.

Removing the speedo for repair by an instrument fitter is the obvious answer but I be checking for a reason for it to be stuck . Is it getting a continuous power supply from a sender that has failed.. and is reading that current

it get wet with oil ? if so,its burning the spark plug then you migth need an sparkplug extention. that is the easy fix.

Its your Over Drive switched to "OFF", check your OD switch on/near the shift lever!! If its placed in "on" have the switch checked!!

It is possible that the ground wire for the audio unit is connected the dash illumination wire that lit up the orginal audio unit. It is a ground when the lights are off when checking for a ground but when the lights are turned on it has power on it causing the audio unit not to operate.

I would run a seperate wire for the ground to make sure the audio unit gets a good ground.

1. Drain the cooling system.
   
2. Remove or disconnect the following:
   
3. Negative battery cable
   
   • Timing chain cover
     
   • Timing chain and guides
     
   • Water pump and discard the gasket
     

To install:

1. Clean all mating surfaces of any residual gasket material.
   
2. Install or connect the following:
   
   • Water pump with a new gasket and torque the bolts to 105 inch lbs. (12 Nm)
     
   • Timing chain guides and chain
     
   • Timing chain cover
     
   • Negative battery cable
     
3. Fill the cooling system to the proper level.
   
4. Start the vehicle, check for leaks and repair if necessary.
   

Water pump—2.7L engine

Check the break light switch, it's under the dash on the brake pedal, it's made of plastic and screws in you will find the plasitc threads stripped it will have 2 or 3 wires running to the switch. It will have a half inch lock nut that holds it in place. Hope this helps.
