2005 Chevrolet Uplander. Had code P0401 so Shop replaced EGR valve, but now codes P0404 and P1404.

Check out this case study on a Chevy Impala for that P1404 code on a new EGR. I only watch the beginning, (too long for me to sit and watch) but seems to be a communication issue. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HT4OnP4U0to https://www.google.com/search?q=P1404 https://www.google.com/search?q=P0404 ..

2005 Chevrolet Uplander engine problem.

Question edited for clarity and all the typos. Question moved to sub category. Did you disconnect the battery recently? It could be many things, but it could be the security system immobilizer. You should also check for fault codes. When you say 'nothing works inside', do you mean things like the dome light, the radio, and the dash lights? If that is the case, you need a mobile auto electrician. https://www.google.com/search?q=2005+chevy+uplander+security+reset ..

2005 Chevy Uplander. My engine will not shut off with key in off position until I pull the key out.

Question edited for clarity. Question moved to sun-category. You have modules issues. For that you need an auto-electrician with a pro grade scan tool computer. They collect data from each module and tell which are causing the issue. Likely to be ECM and BCM issues.

Where is the wiring harness connector for the service engine light located.

mil-undefined-undefined-0.jpg Note the diagram for mil/malfunction indicator lamp. Wiring connector at instrument cluster, it appears pin 4, brown wire with white tracer, in my opinion that wire is ground controlled by the pcm, depending on the situation. The lamp needs voltage and ground, if the lamp itself is ok. good luck

My 2005 chevy uplander runs for while then dies and won't start fuel pump is good when checked it comes up emission problem is there something to check.

Generic obd 2 system allows access only to systems that affect exhaust emissions and dealer level software is needed for everything else. A fault that affects the exhaust emissions should switch on the engine check light and store a fault code in the memory. While the light is on the engine is operating on the get-you-home programme. When there is a problem, after a thorough visual inspection and ensuring the routine maintenance is up to date, a code reader or scanner is used to read stored fault codes, examine live data and suchlike. The fault code is an invaluable start point in the diagnostic process and repair, but in order to advise you further you need to tell us what the code is...

Ok my 2005 uplander is acting like it has no power and spudders and the faster i go i geg this like skreeting sound til i let off gas

Hmm I don't know what the skreeting sound might be, but your lack of power and spuddering is most likely do to an ignition problem. This van has a V6 and GM V6's use a waste spark system. Many times a spudder or lack of power is due to a failed ignition control module or coil pack. If you have a failed coil pack you should replace the ignition control module as well because it most likely has damaged the ignition control module anyway.

Where is transmission speed sensor?

The transmission speed sensors of normal cars are located near the front and rear of the transmission housing. Check the repair manual for your car. I hope it will help you out.

Uplander 2005 over heat problems

When the temp. gauge pegs hot what was the real temp of the engine ? Hook up a scan tool that can view live data to see what temp. sensor is reporting to the PCM / ECM , use a Infrared Thermometer to test temp at the engine . GM had instrument cluster gauge problems , bad stepper motors that control gauges . I replaced bunchesof these because people thought vehicle was overheating . 2003 to 2006 gm vehicles .

Where can I find a release switch for the liftgate on 2005 uplander it wont unlock

There may be an access hole plug at the bottom of the trim panel you can remove to insert a flat bladed screwdriver into the latch tommanually release it. If no plug there may be an intention in this area where you can drill a hole into the trim panel to insert a screwdriver. Then you can purchase a plug from a Chevy dealership to cover it up.

05 Chevy uplander overheated one time alam was going off and vehicle shutdown

While there are a variety of reasons your Chevrolet Uplander is overheating, the most common 3 are a coolant leak (water pump, radiator, hose etc.), the radiator fan, or a failed thermostat. A more uncommon reason is your radiator is partially scaled up and under a heavier load, the cooling capacity is not sufficient.

2005 chevy uplander ABS control module wire harness where is it located, what does it look like? if damaged will it prevent vehicle from starting

This will not prevent the car from starting - will cause ABS light, traction control light (if equipped) and maybe weird low speed braking. Usually the fault of the lights is a bad wheel bearing/hub very common. The EBCM (Electronic Brake Control Module) is mounted to the BPMV (Brake Pressure Modulator Valve) located at the left front (lower) engine compartment. It looks like a (thick) flat black box.

Replaced thermostat and radiator cap on 2005 Chev Uplander. It is still overheating

Have you checked the water pump? Also, you may want to check the oil to ensure no water is getting into it. This would be a milky color oil which would indicate a bad head gasket or head. Is your radiator fluid staying at the full level or are you losing fluid? if all of this looks good, you may have air in the system. You can google or search on youtube for ways to clear the engine of air in the cooling system.
