My 2002 trailblazer gear switch
The FWD system is a bit complicated and relies on an electric solenoid and engine vacuum to engage with the various settings. Check for trouble codes (DTCs) using a code reader to try and trace the problem.
As far as starting is concerned, sounds like your starting motor (or solenoid on the motor) is giving up the ghost, but you also may have an intermittent battery problem (shorting plates).

If you have been in a lot of mud it can get caked up in your linkage and keep it from working properly
hope this helps
No power to coil
Check the pink wire. It goes from the ignition switch to two circuits in the under-hood fuse box and the ignition coil. One circuit goes to ENG-1, ECM-1, IGN-E. The other circuit goes to GAUGES, FUSE 4, AIRBAG FUSE 10 and TURN/BU FUSE 16.
If all those fuses do not have power when the ignition switch is turned to start or run check the pink wire as it comes from the firewall connection. If you don't have power on the hood side, there may be a bad connection between the two halves of the connector.
If you do have power on the pink wire on the hood side of the firewall then you may have to check it between the coil to the firewall connector and underneath the under-hood fuse box.
I would use a tone tracer on the pink wire while the ignition switch is in the off position. (turning the switch off makes the wire only go in one direction, to the engine compartment) The tool sends a tone signal through the wire (in this case it would be hooked up to the pink wire) and has a receiver that lets you follow the tone in the wire without having to open the wire harness. You can just follow the wire harness and hear the tone signal. if there is a break in the wire or the connection is terminated somewhere in the circuit the tone will stop. Makes it a lot easier to trace a wire.
Sluggish when pressing gas pedal
My guess is a compression problem - which could be caused by something simple and cheap to fix or as serious as a new head gasket.

Are you talking about starter motor? In the diagram, see starter relay, unplug the relay, see terminal 30 and terminal 87, if you use jumper wire between those two terminals, the starter motor should crank, Terminal 30 is hot all the time. If you try this make sure tranny is in park or neutral and parking brake is set. If it cranks with the jumper, the problem is on control side of relay, ignition switch--neutral switch--or wiring circuit, somewhere. see crank fuse, use a test lite and voltage on crank fuse when problem is ongoing. I can only help with testing.
Check engine lite----secondary air pump failure
The most likely cause is the air pump has ingested water and failed. Here is a bulletin for that concern and should fix the problem.Water may have collected in the air pump or the vent solenoid and frozen or corroded the pump.
Problem with a 2000 chevy blazer not starting
Have replaced starter, alternator , ignition wiring, neutral safety starter switch, still happens ??????? Do you know how to do automotive electrical testing ? Not guessing an replacing parts . Not starting ??? How ? when you turn the key to start does the starter motor engage an spin the engine ? Or when you turn the key to start nothing happens ? A no crank no start or a cranks no start . Plus you shoud learn how the system works before trying to diagnose .
