I have a 98 Chevy express 5.0 done complete tune up runs smoother but high idle what can I do to idle it down

The idle is computer controlled. Have a look for any disconnected/split vacuum hoses allowing unmetered air to enter the engine which will cause a high idle. Have a look inside the throttle plate and inspect for dirty/black. If so, clean with a carb spray and toothbrush. This can affect idle if the plate is sticky. You may also have a sticky idle air control motor causing this issue

Lock pass

If it is the passlock, you will be getting a 'security' or similar light on your instrument panel. Then you can bypass the system fairly easily. If you have a check engine light, Autozone or Advance Auto parts stores read them for free from the computer connection. You need an OBDII scanner to retrieve the engine codes.

Where can i buy at 205 reseal to stop engine leak

Those products do not work Just make the proper repairs Once you add them, they can not be removed, short of a hot tank or acid bath during a rebuild You can find anything you want on the internet You will just ruin the vehicle for the next owner

Engine size

There should be a sticker on the hood or radiator support with the size listed, and you can use the 8th digit of the VIN code on the windshield too.

I'm having a problem with my 98 Chevy Express G1500

if you have replaced ther speedometer sending unit then your dash cluster is the problem chances are that the sending unit was only part of the problem. the cluster is static sensitive so have a mechanic replace it for you, if your not familiar with newer dash clusters, static electricity can short not part but the whole dash unit which is quite costly, so be sure to have a shop replace it, if your not up to the task

STARTER STAY RUNNING AFTER CRANKING THE IGNITION!

It is due to one of 2 things. The ignition key can still be sending the start signal to the starter relay through the small wire in the Relay solenoid; or the starter Relay is stuck after it gets the signal from the key and the key is correctly in the RUN position. You would need to put a voltmeter on the small wire on the starter solenoid. The Relay should not connect the battery to the starter without this small wire attached to it.. If this wire is off and the starter gets power, the relay is bad. If you test the small wire for power, it should only have power in the START position. The small wire should be powerless in any other position. If the small wire has power at other times, the ignition switch is bad. Please rate my info.

I GOT A REAL DUZZY HERE GUYS!

P0193 - Fuel injector supply Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit High InputPossible causes- Excessive resistance in the circuit - Low or no fuel - Wiring harness connector of the fuel pressure sensor - Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor - Fuel Pump P0193 Description The Fuel Rail Pressure (FRP) sensor is a diaphragm strain gauge device in which resistance changes with pressure. The electrical resistance of a strain gauge increases as pressure increases, and the resistance decreases as the pressure decreases. The varying resistance affects the voltage drop across the sensor terminals and provides electrical signal to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) corresponding to pressure.Strain gauge type sensors are consider passive sensors. A passive sensor is connected to a voltage divider network so that varying the resistance of the passive sensor causes a variation in total current flow.Voltage that is dropped across a fixed resistor in series with the sensor resistor determines the voltage signal at the PCM. This voltage signal is equal to the reference voltage minus the voltage drop across the fixed resistor. The FRP sensor measures the pressure of the fuel near the fuel injectors. This signal is used by the PCM to adjust the fuel injector pulse width and meter fuel to each combustion cylinder.

No power to drivers window

Did you check the fuses? Sometimes a blown fuse may be the culprit of electrical failures to minor things such as power windows.

I have a 98 chevy express van,My A/C compresor relay dose not engage when you turn the switch on but if you unpluge the relay and put back in with the switch on it will work, turn the switch off and

1) you must test the wires connector from corroded cables , clean it2) Test the voltage for 12vdc for input to the coil of the relais.3) If there are NOT, test the fuse for open and replacle, the fuse box in the hood motor, see the instruction name, and identify the fuse or c.breaker. and replace or repair.4) see the diagram attached and use the logic sense for troubleshooting.God bless you7_9_2012_12_51_10_pm.jpg
