Cooling fan not working pontiac montana sv6 2005

Your electric fan should only kick on when the van tells it to. The way this is accomplished is by a sensor. I dont know where it is located on your vehicle specifically, but they are sometimes located in the radiator (common for aftermarket fan kits).

I have 3 problems with my recently purchased 05

No idea iam a europeon mechanic but it sounds to me that you have bought someones elses problem and i would advise that you trade it back in and buy a nice little new car like a polo or a nissan or something as this beast has problems that no one could sort out so they traded it in and you have bought a pig in a poke and i wouldnt be surprissed if it oesnt cost more to sort out than its worth.

2005 montana

I used to have this problem with my 97 Bonnieville. The solution was to remove the battery bolt (it used an internal bolt that screws into the battery, as opposed to a clamp that would clamp around a standard battery "post".)

You may have this problem. Try to remove the battery cable from the battery, and clean the metal on the battery and the cable ends. Retighten to the battery, and try again. You can use a wire brush to accomplish this. Be careful of battery acid, and wear gloves.

I use dielectric grease coating on the battery connection to prevent this.

Good Luck!

How do I get the battery out of a 2005 Pointiac Montana?

It's a tight fit. You must remove the bolts securing the bar that goes from the radiator support to the strut tower and remove the bar. The underhood fuse block (also known as battery juction box) can "uncliped" from its base and can then be moved aside. Then the battery has to be turned up on end to get it out....and people cannot understand why we mechanics would charge for something as simple as replacing a battery......:-D
