The electrical outlet in the
On our 2001 Chevrolet Venture (same vehicle under the sheet metal), both the front and rear 12v outlets are controlled by the same fuse, which is in the fuse box located next to the passenger front door. If one of these outlets blows the fuse (a portable ball/tire inflator will do the trick with us), all of them will shut down.
I have also had the 12v outlets stop working, even when the fuse was good. I discovered that I had a bad connection at the fuse box; wiggling the fuse box assembly itself would cause the outlets to flicker on and off. Detaching and re-attaching the modular cable that connects the fuse block seems to have corrected that problem for the most part. However, sometimes, our 12v outlet will still flicker, even though power remains constant to everything else in the vehicle.
How can I test the multifunction switch?
Its possible both brake bulbs are burnt out.
Rare, but a wiring issue to both rears.
try the hazards. if the hazards are same as brake lights you are in luck to test alot. if the brake lamps light up with hazards then you know your multi function switchis bad.
Find the coolant thermostat
I believe on this engine the thermostat is on the transmission side of the engine. Follow the large hose coming off the top of the radiator to where it goes on to the engine. May be underneath the throttle body and behind the exhaust crossover pipe.
