electric sunroof stuck open can it be closed manually
Posted by papatbrig on
THE ELECTRIC DRIVE SYSTEM FOR POWER SUNROOF IS NOT ADJUSTABLE.DONT REMOVE THE SUNROOF MOTOR UNLESS THE SUNROOF IS COMPLETELY CLOSED.OTHERWISE A NEW MOTOR WILL HAVE TO BE INSTALLED AND TIMED WITH A TOOL THAT COMES WITH THE NEW MOTOR.THE GLASS PANEL CAN BE ADJUSTED.OPEN THE INTERIOR SUNSHADE ALL THE WAY BACK AND OPERATE THE SUNROOF UNTIL FULLY CLOSED.THERE ARE THREE GLASS MOUNTING SCREWS ON EACH SIDE OF THE SUNROOF OPENING.INSIDE THE VECHICLE LOOSEN THE SCREWS SET THE FRONT EDGE OF THE GLASS TO BE JUST 1MM BELOW THE SURFACE OF THE ROOF.ADJUST THE GLASS AT THE REAR EDGE TO BE JUST ABOVE 1MM THE ROOF AT THE REAR TIGHTEN THE SCREWS.

how many quarts of transmission fluid does it hold
Posted by robert... on
You didn't state what size engine you have.
The 2.2 engine----- 6.9 qts.
The 2.3 engine-----7.4 qts.
The 2.4 is 7.4 qts.
The 3.1 is 7.4 qts.
The 3.4 is 6.9 qts.
These are the capacities for refilling after being drained.

2001 pontiac grand am, car wont start appear to out of gas, manually fueled car (7gals) still wont start. Ignition rolls over and will start with starting fluid intil it runs out. Appears as a fuel pump issue but not sure, any suggestions - also wanted to know where the fuel pump is located on this model - 4cyl turbo
Posted by pat_mizer on
The fuel pump is in the fuel tank.Sit in the car.....turn on the ignition switch to run.....listen very closely to the rear of the car...or have someone kneel down by the back wheel.....you should hear a "prime cycle"......the pump running for 2 or 3 seconds if the key was off for 15 seconds before trying this.If you hear silence you most likely need a fuel pump. Before pulling the tank down....check for power on the gray wire at the fuel tank connector just ahead of the rear axle under the car.Check for power with a test light that will last for 2 to 3 seconds as you turn on the key to run.Power means you really most likely need a pump.No power means you may need a fuse or a fuel pump relay.

I am not sure which engine you have on your 202 Grand Prix, but if you have the most common 3800 V6 this is where it should be. Look at the back of the engine compartment just to the left of the plastic master cylinder resevoir.
Here is a picture you can look at...
I hope I was able to assist you!

code po442 small leak (emmisions). How should i trouble shoot this problem? Could an exhaust leak cause this code to come up?
Posted by garycavana... on
P0442:Evaporative Emission System Leak Detected (small leak)
what this system does is collect and store gas fumes, it also uses vacuum to detect any fuel tank or line leaks, it has zero to do with exhaust leaks, this code is often caused by a loose gas cap or a defective gas cap, so check the gas cap and make sure it is properly secured, if it is clear the code and see if it comes back, also never fuel the car with the engine running or the key turned on, this will trigger P0442.

This indicates that a part of the EVAP
control system is no longer fuctioning correctly. The EVAP system consists
of many parts, including (but not limited to) the gas cap, fuel lines, carbon
canister, purge valve, and other hoses. The (EVAP) emission
control system prevents the escape of fuel vapors from a vehicle's fuel system.
Fuel vapors are routed
to a charcoal canister for storage. Later, when the engine is running a purge
control valve opens allowing intake vacuum to siphon the fuel vapors into

With a P0440 OBD-II trouble code, diagnosis can be tricky at times. Here are some things to try:
