Removing the radiator 1997 2.2L pontiac sunfire

I don't want to sound negative but if you need to ask, are you technically competent to carry out the task safely and correctly to ensure the safe running of the vehicle?Better to get help from tech or knowledgeable diy'er.There are hazards associated with coolant/aircon/ fluids etc that you would need to understand. There may also be tricks to bleeding out airlocks in the system that only experience would know.

Heater will not switch to defrost stuck on 1 position

when the heater controls are stuck on one setting it could be the foam on your mode door valve so it wont properly switch causing it to only be on one setting. or its the mode door actuator but the major problem is the foam on the door it self there is a seal kit you can get to fix the problem p/n 89018656 but you have to take some of your dash apart to get to it its not to bad if you just have to replace the foam. an 8 hour job or so if you have to replace the whole actuator

Fuel system problem or electrical?

I would want to know if fuel pressure is steady before and after cranking the engine. The pump gets power from the relay for 3 seconds when you turn the key on, then nothing until the computer "sees" oil pressure or RPM.You'd need a pressure gauge to find out.

1997 pontiac sunfire no ****** dip stick how much fluid to put in

It will probably be easier to take it to a regular repair shop to have it checked. There is a small bolt that comes out to verify fluid level after it's warmed up and still running. It's too hard to describe where the level plug is located and it can be dangerous to check & fill without experience.

Car starts then cuts out

MAKE SURE YOUR BATTERY IS CHARGED OR NEW. TAKE OFF THE STEERING COLUMN COVERS. PUT THE KEY IN, NO EXTRA KEYS HANGING FROM IT. START THE CAR. UNPLUG THE CONNECTOR WITH THE YELLOW, BLACK, AND WHITE WIRES CONNECTING TO THE PASSLOCK/LOCK CYLINDER, AND IT WILL CONTINUE TO RUN.TAPE THE CONNECTORS. REPLACE COVER. YOUR THEFT LIGHT WILL STAY ON/FLICKER. YOU HAVE DISABLED THE SYSTEM. NOW THE CAR WON'T CUT OFF WHILE TRYING TO START IT. SUMMARY: YOUR PASSLOCK WAS FAILING. OTHERWISE IF YOUR IGNITION SWITCH WAS FAILING, IT PROBABLY WOULDN'T TRY TO START. FOUND THIS ON A SITE FOR A CAVALIER...... AND SUNFIRES DIAGRAMS AND THEFT FEATURES ARE MOSTLY THE SAME. NO PELLET IN KEY. NO RESISTORS. NO CUTTING WIRES. NO 10 MIN RELEARN. HOPE THIS HELP.

On a 1997 pontiac sunfire what happens when the gen voltage sensor fuse is missing from the black box under the hood?

Yes ,it certainly does have to do with the alternator. This is the connection from the battery votage to the regulator. The regulator needs to know what the battery voltage is doing so as to optomise the charge rate from the alternator.

Door won't close

You have probably bumped the latch and caused it to close. Look at the latch in the door. The latch has a locking arm that is down when in the locked position and up at the top when in the open position. If the arm is down in the center of the latch opening of the door push the arm upward until it locks in place.(sometimes you have to activate the latch handle/button on the outside of the door while pushing the arm upward)
