It would be good to check where the loose connection is. Turn on the lights and move the connecting cables or plugs and see if you can determine where the bad connection is. You may be able to use a stick or similar to prod the connector at the back of the sealed beam assy, Similarly move around connections to the relay controlling the beam.

That hose is a single hose and it is a tough material that has special connectors on it. You need to use jack stands or something to get it high off the ground. There will be gasonline coming out of the lines when you unhook it and you have to lower the tank so it is best to not be trapped under it if something goes wrong.

• Neutral safety switch sends a signal to the on-board computer to allow the engine to start and to engage the transmission
• When not replaced, vehicle may experience no start and/or transmission will not shift out of park

If I remember correctly, everything is inside the distributor. I believe you will have to replace the distributor to correct your problem.

Between the engine and the gearbox

Remove the starter-- then remove the solenoid from it

clean the area where the sparking is occurring and check for a crack at the plug lead in the distributor cap. If the cap is bad inside then the spark will ne short circuited and the engine will stop.

It can be either switch or any of the wiring in between. You have to follow a wiring diagram to test the circuit and this one is a bit complicated.
