My1988 nissan maxima hesitate a lot before quiting, what will be the problem,do you think if i change the fuel pump will solve the problem?

Could be alot of things but since it only acts up when hot that narrows a few things. Put new sparkplugs in. Run the car until it starts acting up, turn the car off let it cool then take out the spark plugs but keep them in the boot of the cylinder it came out of check the color of all of the plugs. Which one or more look oil caked up? If you can read a sparkplug they willl tell you the problem most of the time on older vehicles. If not this the problems probably in fuel delivery system filters or pump.

1988 nissan maxima exterior lights will not turn off unless battery is disconnected

Sounds like the parking lights have been turned on. Double check switch position. If that does not help you probably have a light relay problem or the parking light switch is broken.

1988 nissan maxima exterior lights will not turn off unless battery is disconnected

I would check and make sure that the light switch is still good . It could be stripped and just spinning when you turn the Switch.

Have a 1988 Nissan Maxima the reverse lights won't

you dont know stick from automatic, really?no matter, both have a reverse switch.the A/T costs 10x more. but is a switch.your question i guess, is how to diagnose it or guess?the tests with a voltmeter are easy, Ill assume you dont have such a tool?hard, to hoe that row but.....wild but accurate guessing (warnings)1: both lamps are burned out or 1 shorted, replace them.2: the wires are cut or shorted or both. (same for all connectors)3: the switch is bad.4: the fuse is burned open.this is a very simple circuit near same as flashlight.bad parts, or open circuit.Ill assume the head light do work..

On a 88 Maxima there is a leak from a broken seal or gasket behind drivers front tire.

You should be able to tell if the leak isfrom inside the steering rack bellows (Boot)If you see there is--- no fix-- as the rack is rebuilt in a factorynot serviced on car.May just be a leaking steering hoseNext to the tire is the drive axle boot & just grease insideUnfortunately you have to remove the axle to clean cv jointadd new grease & boot kit or 90% of the time replace the axle as dirt has ruined it

possibly the mileage driven does not allow the battery to recoup the charge it used up in starting the car. perform a draw down test to see if battery is defective

Is it ok to use Dexron VI ATF as power steering fluid?

No I do not recommend that, use the factory Nissan fluid from the dealer parts dept. It cost more but the system will last longer and perfrom better.

Wet floor board when it rains.

The sloshing water could be water in your doors. Old Range Rovers used to trap water when the drains became plugged - it could be that the water is building up there and coming out of the door speaker grilles. Is the car fitted with a sunroof? Pinched or restricted sunroof drains can also lead to this kind of problem.
