Owned one of these.
There is a relay for the these lights. Under the hood. The hazards and turn signals share the same relay.
I have a 1987 Nissan pickup. With no headlights
Are the headlights working ? If so they would pull current thru the switch and leave nothing for the meter.If not you could have a weak connection between the headlight switch and the source of power, including inside the switch. The connection could be good enough to power the meter but not good enough to power the lights.
The truck died while driving and won't start
run fault codes and look for cam/crank sensor failure . Check timing belt or chain. check battery condition and terminals for clean and tight. Check for water in the radiator to check for overheat condition.

Look on the relay for the terminal numbers.
Terminal 30 goes to the battery positive.Red Wire
The two terminal 87 go to the fog lights.Black Wires
Match the color wire with what you have on the relay connection for the rest of the wires.
Terminal 86 should connect to your low beam headlight.
Terminal 85 should go to the fog light switch.
The fog light switch should connect to the terminal 85 and the other terminal on the switch will connect to ground.
How does the cluch engage
Is your clutch master cylinder real low or empty,if so then your clutch slave cylinder is bad and not holding pressure and leaking,it's located on side of transmission,held on by two bolts,easy to remove,need to get a bleeder kit,autozone has them.Here's a

My 89 nissan d21 brakelights went out and when i push down the pedal my dash lights come on
Hi, if you didnt fix it yet I'll tell you what could cause the dash lights to come on while pressing on the brake pedal, and that is checking the bulbs AND putting the wrong one in the wrong hole, IE putting the back-up bulb in a brake/parking light socket . The single lead on the center of the back-up bulb shorts the double contacts on the brake/park light socket so the electricity just flows through the one tip of the bulb connecting the two contacts in the socket since the park and dash lights are on the same circuit the dash lights will be energized, hope that makes sense as it happened to me with a 66 mustang.
