I do not see a tension bolt on my truck. only the top and bottom alternator bolts. Am I supposed to have one.

The top bolt fits into a slide ... ? That is, if you loosened all the bolts the top bolt would be able to slide in a hole. Image below is generic: 26060241-1uyoe2rddzafpx0w5lo2s2lh-3-0.jpeg The top bolt would fit into something that looks like: 26060241-1uyoe2rddzafpx0w5lo2s2lh-3-1.jpeg

My nissan pickup dies after it warms up

One thing if you haven't already checked that is really easy if it is the problem. Simply check your vacuum from the intake manifold. There is a convenient port just off the brake booster line. With all those hoses and hot surfaces, it is easy to get a small to fairly large leak. The vehicle will start but as you rev, the vacuum loss will kill it. There are numerous other possibilities, so if this is not it let me know.

2nd gear will not enter whether from 1st to 2nd or 3rd to 2nd and truck will vibrate (when trying to shift from 1st to 2nd) on my 1987 Nissan pickup d21 Z24 manual transmission.

I suspect a failed bearing or synchro assembly in the transmission check that by removing the drain plug and checking the magnet for metal bits if there are particles then it is a box out for rebuild

Where is turn signal fuse or relay location under dash

The turn signal will likely not have it's own fuse. It will part of a ''section'' of electronic items (example: ''Dashboard lights''). So, if turn signals are the _only_ thing not working, it is likely not a fuse. All it takes is a little dirt in just _one_ socket and the whole system could go out. (On some cars it would be just that entire _side_ front and back. On others, all 4 could go out).

Mount pickup bed topper

Iwingman: You can do a temporary installation which will hold it just fine or more perminant depending on the amount of tape you use, if you do the following: Get a roll of "two way tape" The tape comes in various widths. Measure the width of the top of the bed rail and that will be the width you ask for. If they don't have any wide enough, get two rolls which will add up to the desired width. Most suppliers for automotive shops will carry this and it is a guarantee that an automotive paint supplier will have it. Make sure you have enough to cover the length of both bed rails and accross the front of the top of the bed if you plan to make this a perminant installation. Aside from the two way tape, buy some "C" clamps, or you can go to a place that sells camper tops and they have special clamps designed for holding down tops to the beds. Buy some paint mixing sticks which can be used to place between the fiberglass top and the clamp face to eliminate potential damage.
NOW, using a solvent cleaner to remove all wax and grease, plus wash all dirt from both surfaces of the top of the bed and the bottom of the topper where it will be sitting on the bed. Make sure you have the topper sitting on some saw horses or some other place where there is little exposure to the bottom surface.
Install the two way tape on the top surface of the bed where it will be mating with the top. Making sure that where you are is not subject to a lot of trash blowing around. You will need the assistance of one person or more depending on how awkward and heavy the top is. Make a dry run first. Before removing the protective cover from the tape, You can carefully see what will work the easiest in setting the top in place on the truck. It can be done in sections, in a manner of speaking. After deciding the easiest route, place paint sticks down at least 50% of the length of the bed. Peel the protective surface from the two way tape at the beginning surface you had decided will be the starting point for you installation. Only remove a few inches of the protective covering. This way you have an out should you feel your getting in trouble.
As you slowly lower the top down, peel the protective covering down and back towards you.The sticks are a safety measure which can be removed as you go along, slowly lowering the top onto the tape until it is sitting fully and firmly on the bed of the truck. Then go inside the bed and start working your way around the inside of the top of the bed, pushing firmly on the top to help it seat and attach to the two way tape. If all is done properly, you will probably think that the tape alone will hold the top. Don't risk it! It will be obvious how to place the clamps. Just make sure that you put the paint sticks between the top and the surface of the clamps. If you happen to have purchased the actual clamps that are used in top installations, just follow their instructions in how to utilize their clamps. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN!
Your answer has been provided by mybunkey, an old school Nissan master tech. May this solution be the best one to resolve you problem. I believe it is by far the safest short of having it transported by a carrier service. Good luck.
