I have a 1989 Mercedes 560SEL. Gasoline
Vacuum is only used to open the choke. To close, assuming it is an automatic choke, there is a thermal spring coil. There is usually an adjustment that consists of loosening the fasteners on the round spring housing and turning. It should have marks for different settings, but these are not exact. Adjust in the morning by loosening the screws, opening the throttle with one hand, and rotating the spring housing until the choke is just closed. Tighten the screws. Make sure to check the engine after it warms up to see if the choke is opening properly. There may also be a fast idle setting that uses a cam to increase the idle when tne choke is closed.

ABS & ASR lights come
abs light comes on and off during normal driving conditions also surges forward when the ligt turns off

How to replace the starter in a 2000 Mercedes' S430
- buy the shop manual
- or get car serviced, with MB shops that ever saw one.before.
- look at it and say to self what needs to be pulled first, things easy, bingo now you did it all by your self ,just looking first
- gets some quotes on this job , ask for the labor estimate and be in for shock. MB shoe horned cars. V8 huge and body small.(there)
Is there any way to add an ignition kill-switch on my 2001 Mercedes Benz S500? Battery goes dead after about five days without driving
It is called Parasitic Draw, one item is being left on and is draining power. Attach an ammeter to the battery. Remove fuses one at a time, keeping an eye on the ammeter. When you pull one fuse, you will see the reading drop a lot. That circuit is the one causing the problem. When you know the fuse, you can check all the things it covers. There will always be some draw because items like the clock and a number of modules are constantly powered.
In general terms, you can't find work-arounds for problems like this, you have to fix them. Or, you can take the vehicle to a good auto-electrician.
Car engine rough running?
The most common 3 reason why your Mercedes is running rough are a vacuum leak, an issue with the spark plugs, or a problem with the ignition coil. Clean out the throttle body and make sure there is no ware at the butterfly pivot shaft .
S500 4matic 2004 the heater blower fan not working
The dealer has some problems with these I think. Bad fuses and such. Check to see if the blower motor is getting power after you turn it on. Check to see if the resistor block (in series prior to the blower motor) is good.
