Are there 1 or 2 wires that go on power side of starter

A typical starter motor on an internal combustion engine has two wires that connect to the power side of the starter. The first wire is the battery cable, which is connected to the positive terminal of the battery. This wire carries power from the battery to the starter motor. The second wire is the solenoid wire, which is connected to the solenoid on the starter motor. The solenoid is an electromagnet that, when energized, completes the circuit between the battery cable and the starter motor. Please note that, I am assuming you are talking about a car starter, in case you are talking about another type of starter please let me know to give you more specific information.

Check engine light on

The p0302 is a misfiring code. It could be plugs or coil pack. The p0420 code reads Catalyst System Efficiency Below Treshol. I would start with the plugs that is the cheapest route to start out with.

When I tried to start my 2000 Malibu, the dash lights and driving lights come on as they normally do. However, when I turn the ignition to the "start" position, the headlights and dash lights go off

This symptom is usually caused by a poor connecrion. Remove the battery cables from the battery, clean them, and replace them tightly. If that does work, check the other ends of the cables for good connections. If all good, it is possible one of the cables has failed internally--under the insulation. I have replaced both circuit boards for rear tail

You only need to change the tail light fuse if it is blown. If you haven't checked it already, do that. Those stop/tail bulbs are 2 filament bulbs. One filament is for brake lights, and other filament is for the tail lights. So it is possible to have brake lights and no tails, if the filaments for the tail lights are burned out. But of course, it is unlikely that all the tail lights would be out and all the brake lights still work. You may need a voltmeter to help solve the problem. It could be a problem in the headlight switch (a problem with the park light function), but is more likely a problem with the Lighting Control Module- or the Body Control Module-whichever your car is equipped with. GM first came out with the LCM, and a year or two later came out with the BCM. Both are mini-computers to control lighting and cabin functions. You would have to use a voltmeter and check things like power in and power out at the BCM of the park lights. You would thus need a wiring diagram to go along with the voltmeter. Those modules are located up under the dash-you can use google to see pictures of them, and maybe find locations.

I have a ssangyong rexton and it wont start it

There's a number of possible reasons.
You don't mention if the engine turns over in the attempt, and you don't say which light is on.
A SsangYong service person can plug in a diagnostic tool to see what error codes are present.

How to replace check horn relay for 2000 chevy malibu

The horn micro relay is in underhood fuse box, number 21 in the circle. Your owners manual should have this info. If you don't have an owners manual, you can look at one for free, my.gm.com It'll ask for year--make model. The relay might not be the problem? 26347031-pljgnq0o0ak0n2jx5q10tx2w-3-0.jpg
