The a.i.r. Pump that injects air into your exhaust , that is driven by the accessorie belt does not push enough so there is a secondary electric a.i.r pump that pushes the extra air needed to burn off the emissions in the catalytic converter if the secondary pump is not working properly it will not pass because the convertors are not getting the extra air needed to do there job.

Hello Vason, Is your engine light on? If so, you need to plug in a diagnostic OBD II reader. Acquire the codes and follow their designation to determine the probable fault source. And yes if any monitored system, for any reason, does not complete its start up cycle your vehicles ECC will not provide the green light all is well return to the diagnostic tester.

first place to look is at the wheel sensors and wires at those points then run the fault codes to see if there is an issue with the abs control module

Hi there I am technology tech mechanic I work on electric and man. I come from long line of mechanics I am 5gen!!!!! No it is emc system I am betting that the heated o2 is not doing it job test them to see! It would also have to do with the obd codes for the future the obd codes just tell you bout were to start or what is the bigger problem with the system! Bench test the o2!!!!! Have you check the mass flow sin. Check out the injects they may be taking air you can just test with a spay bottle and leave car at idle and spay them make sure you are not putting to much but if you see it take in water and you can hear from the motor too!!!! HVAC Compressor Controls Circuit Description The operation of the A/C compressor clutch is controlled by the body control module (BCM) and powertrain control module (PCM). The BCM receives an a/c request signal from the heater a/c control assembly through circuit 66. The BCM then sends a class 2 serial data message to the PCM through circuit 1807. Power for the a/c compressor clutch relay is supplied by the A/C BFC fuse and circuit 439. When the PCM receives an a/c request message from the BCM, the PCM grounds circuit 459 allowing the a/c compressor clutch relay to engage. Ground for the a/c compressor clutch is supplied through circuit 450. Do you know what a class 2 serial data message is ? Class 2 data is a high speed data transmission. In order to control serial data line traffic, class 2 uses the peer to peer method along with message arbitration in order to manage the data line traffic. The class 2 data line includes the following control modules: ?€¢ The body control module (BCM)

You need a factory scan tool to diagnosis , it's the only way to see if transmission is sent an received ! The intake air temperature (IAT) sensor is a thermistor which measures the temperature of the air entering the engine. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) applies 5.0 volts through a pull up resistor. When the intake air is cold, the sensor resistance is high and the PCM will monitor a high signal voltage on the IAT sensor signal circuit. As the intake air warm, the sensor resistance becomes lower causing the PCM to monitor a lower voltage. If the PCM detects an excessively high IAT sensor signal voltage (low temperature indicated), DTC P0113 will set. Test the signal circuit of the IAT sensor for a short to voltage. The picture is hard to see and I can't really tell. But I can tell you about the speed sensors .You have 3 of them . 1 on each wheel and 1 at the output of the transmisstion tailstock area . Bascily they generate a small referance voltage driven by the wheels turning and the driveshaft send this voltage to the VCM or PCM the computer witch in turn compares the voltages and adjusts main engine controls like fuel trim intake air and the abs system . If you are haveing with abs control look at the on the wheels they can get dirty on the wheels . If you are haveing more major function issues look to the main one at the rear of the transmission that measures the total speed of the driveshaft front or rear wheel drive they all work together

Sounds like an electronic pressure switch or electronic governor. Your engine check light should be on or intermittent and it should have a code. A lot of parts stores or transmission repair shop should be able to tell you with a code reader.

P0440 - is a large EVAP leak. The EVAP system stores fuel vapor from the fuel tank and then delivers it into the engine under certain condition. The EVAP system basically consists of a purge solenoid, vent solenoid, charcoal canister, fuel tank and a fuel tank pressure sensor. There are two common causes for this code. One is the fuel cap, make sure it is tight. Also check the filler knock where the gas caps seals to see if there is an excessive amount of rust build up which can also cause this code. The other is the vent solenoid. If it sticks open the system will not be able to go into a vacuum mode. The vent solenoid is usually tucked up in the quarter panel on the drivers side right behind the tire. A scan can tool is usually needed to monitor data and activate solenoids. If the AC system is properly charged you may have a controller/button problem,BCM problem or possibly a wiring issue. Very hard to pinpoint this problem without doing diagnostics

It goes to 2 or 3 places to grease transmissions sets: to gear, to differentials.

Sounds like a problem with the key switch.

It could be a number of things .What kind of difference did the EGR make don't need to answer just big or small . Their is a part not a sensor on the throttle body called the IAC ideal air control behind the TPS sensor .Its a stepper motor jack screw moves in and out to regulate the amount of air at ideal has a composit rubber seal at the end of the shaft that fits into a seat inside the air horn .The Vcm controls the movement .Carbon build up on the seal or seat will effict the ideal air flow make it run rough at ideal. You can remove it 2 small bolts and try to clean it but don't push or pull on the shaft it will damage the motor . Truthfuly I think its a bad disgin to much heat to many varibables to tight tolarances to much expantion and contraction not a good enough seal or control over the system.

about 80 lbs is sufficient ,if the wheel still can moved top to bottom then then renew the bearing ,and check the ball joints on the lower track control arm

Caprice sorry to tell you this but the whole system is a problem .If the fuel lines arn't rusting out the gas tank is or the fuel pump is on the way out .I will try to explain the system to you or at least how they say it should work.It might be better if you told me what code you got or told you got I now a lot about this system I have one and have made it work in spit of the disgin

I think you identified that you have a leak. The way to isolate where from is to fill it up and put a fresh piece of cardboard on the ground under it and look for the drip spot. If you are losing that much though it should be evident but start at the pump connections and work out.

There are two! the easy one should be right under the bottom radiator hose on the radiator . the second is harder to get to it's located on the engine block, depending what motor you have depends where it is located, usually on the side towards the bottom. its a screw in plug when removed it will drain your engine.

fuse for horn on a 2001 malibu is located under the hood. there is a fuse (15 amp) in slot #43 and there is a relay in slot #21 if you remove the relay and put it back in wrong the horn will not work.
