The engine stops because the computer does not recognize the new key. You must find a way to get the truck and technician with right equipment in the same place ( usually the dealership service ). I do not know of any alternative.
If you're comfy with manuals then i know few websites that can help you with it. Bcause I've bought it from various websites so I know how each site deals.
like for me best is reliable-store com
they also have this live chat feature that girl can help you right there
also another one is manualslife com but they don't have any such live assitance feature.. actually none do except this one that's why it's good. Other wise manuals are best here both websites
Is the PCM - turning on the fuel pump ? If there are not any anti-theft system problems and the engine computer see's a input voltage signal from the Transmission range switch that the vehicle is in park or neutral and it sees a input from the crankshaft position sensor it will supply a ground to energize the fuel pump relay .
Is there a fuel regulator? NO there is no regulator . Watch this video ! GM Fuel Pump Relay Testing
Don't guess ,test !
