Why do my trailer lights go out when I apply the
You have a bad ground either on the trailer side or the vehicle side.
You can check the vehicle side with a test light. The exposed pin on a four pin connector is the ground. Hook the test light to that pin. Turn on the lights and the four way flashers. Check the other three pins with the test light. If the test light lights up than the problem is the trailer. If the test light doesn't light up than the problem is the vehicle.

Will a fuelpump out of a 5.7 fuel injection 98
I'd check that by contacting a GM parts dept. Verify that the part #'s are the same etc... (They can check fuel tank gasket sets etc...) Personally, I'd just replace the junk pump with a new unit and get it over with. Too much labor and aggravation to have to do the job twice by trying to save a buck. Good luck!
My truck back fires and runs rough
Since the truck was running fine before the wires/spark plugs change, we'll look into these 2.1. Check your wires. As NS said you may have misplaced some of them.2. If all wires are in their normal position then check for wire to wire or wire to ground spark. This is better done with the engine running and it's dark under the hood. Any spark that can be seen will be a problem.3. Check your spark plugs making sure they're gaped correctly. A brand new set may have a defective one. Please feel free to let me know if I can help more.
1996 chevy silverado v8 4.3 won't crank. Replaced
Check the voltage coming from the battery and check it again at the coil.I suspect you are not getting the proper voltage going through. Clean all the terminal ends to bare shiny metal and make sure all the connections are tight. If I remember correct your truck still has the HEI setup with the coil in the top of the distributor cap. If all the voltages are good, 12+ volts you should replace the coil. Hope this helps.
I have a 1996 chevy truck and with the key off my
Is the lights being on draining the battery, if not then you have two problems, first check the lights, unplug connector from headlight switch and see if that turns lights off, if so then replace the headlight switch, next is the starting if battery is fully charged and nothing happens when key is turned then i would start by checking the starter, with a test light have someone hold the key in the start postion while you test starter, the back of the starter seliniod you will see two connections, one is a big connection with a battery cable going to it, that cable should have power at all times then theres a small connection next ti the big one with a small wire, thats the trigger wire that should have power when key is in the start postion, if theres power to both then replace the starter and thats the starting problem. good day.
When you put the gas peddle to the floor it spits
check fule filter, check rubber hose if equiped, at tank, may be hard to tell by sight, I have had cars that would run fine when driven slowly but when floored promptly died. I finally found it , and that is what it was,the little rubber hose that connects the steel gas line to tank, for whatever reason , was collapsing when car was floored cutting gas flow off robbing engine of fuleif you can easily pinch the rubber hose that could be the problem. I haven't seen that one for a while(nostalgic) I hope this helps!
