1995 Chevrolet Corvette Questions & Answers
My 1995 corvette coupe will not start; it has gasoline, a good battery and turns over good but the engine will not fire; when it does (on occassion) the engine is rough running and will die. The opti
Check your voltage to the fuel injectors. Also check to see if the fuel injectors need cleaning.First, put your fuel pressure gauge on the shrader valve on the end of the right fuel rail. You should have 35-42 psi and it should hold up for a long time with the ignition turned off.
The signal to the injectors is a pulse to ground on the green/blk wire of each injector. The black wire on the injector goes to 12v. Get a noid light at a parts store and see if your injectors are being pulsed during cranking. If not, first check both injector fuses with an ohmeter, they see a lot better than you do. If you have a pulse and fuel pressure and still no starting, you have contaminated gasoline. Engines that start on starting fluid have no gasoline/air mix in the intake due to no gas, or no injecting.Even a cheap $5 multi-meter will work for you.
Check for +12 volts at the black wire of each injector connector or check continunity between all of them and then for +12V.
Check for continunity between the green/black wire and at the ECM connector. Take the connector off the ECM to get at the pin. Also disconnect the neg battery cable before doing this one.
Locate and bypass clutch safety switch
The clutch switch is located under the dash attached to the pedal. DO NOT BYPASS it is put there as a safety so the vehicle will not start in gear. It is a cheap part and should just be replaced.
How to locate and bypass the clutch safetey
The clutch safety switch is located directly on the clutch pedal. Look under the dash and you will see a switch with a wire plug attached to it. Disconnect the plug ( it will be a 2 wire plug ) and use a jumper to cross over the 2 terminals on the plug end. This will eliminate the clutch safety switch
How to I replace heater actuator for 95 corvette
It's on the passenger side of the engine. Connected to the heater hose. Of Course the old type with a vacuum line. First make sure you have vacuum to it. Repair this first. Could be the diaphragm, replace the actuator. The actuator is held in place with clamps. Cut them off if necessary. The actuator is about 4 inches in length (part of this is in the hoses), It has a diaphragm of about 2 1/2 inches in diameter, with an arm and rod to open and close the valve.
Voltage gauge fluctuates on 1995 corvette when turn signal is on
It should fluctuate, some. The signals would put a small load on the system which would show up on the gauge. More than say a volt or two might be a problem.Same thing when the blower motor or headlights are turned on.The alternator should recover the loss.
Starter will not disengade
remove starter from eng . disassemble or take to a certified repair station and explain what it is doing. prolly just needs cleaned real well and lubed in the proper places. bendix return spring stuck.maybe bad but prolly not . clean and lube. auto parts store can test if removed from eng.free of charge prior to disassembly.
