2002 Chevy Impala LS. Dash lights normal during day time - night time lights on dash stay dim and won't brighten even with dimmer switch up or down w/ headlight switch.

On left hand side of the steering wheel you have a manual light switch that controls the dash lights for dim and brighter by turning the switch right or left, or you will have a wheel like switch next to it which could be the control that goes up to brighten and down to dim. Either type is a rheostat type switch, to lower the lights it decreases the current to brighten the lights the current is increased. if the contacts are worn or dirty it could interfere with the current control. Sometimes you can just go from left to right or up and down and clean the contacts to work. Other wise it time to replace the switch by+n3am3p7csaaaaaelftksuqmcc

2002 Impala 3.8 drove it home now wont start has no spark put in new crank pos sensor still no spark at coil mod

Check the wiring to make sure it hasn't been damaged because of rodents or if it's been done wrong. Check the power and ground wires to the coil pack and make sure they're connected properly. If all of this is good check the relays and also the crankshaft sensor again. If all of this is good the likely cause for it not starting is the ICM (Ignition Control Module).

Soft plug at the back of the engine is leaking,

you engine has about 10 freeze plugs, there were created to be pushed out by ice if your antifreeze wasn't strong enough and froze inside the engine, that way the ice didn't crack the block when it expanded.
what causes freeze plugs to leak is the erosion affects from the antifreeze we use today, when they tell you to change your antifreeze every couple of years, the freeze plugs take another shot of strong antifreeze again, they just rust up on the inside of the engine until they get a rust hole in them

My head lights went out but my parking light are still on what could be the problem

I would check the fuses first. Headlights are typically on a separate fuse then the parking lights. If the fuse is fine check and see if the Bulb is burnt out but it is rare for both lights to go out at the same time.

My 2002 Chevy impala seems to be spitting out a little water from the exhaust.i

Fuels, petrol or diesel, are known as hydrocarbon (hydrogen and carbon) fuels and so when burned in air (oxygen) one of the resulting products is a considerable amount of H2O or water. Mostly this is expelled through the exhaust as vapour but at certain times, such as when the air is cold and dry and the engine and exhaust system is cool, the vapor will condense and emerge as steam and water droplets. When a vehicle has lots of short journeys, the exhaust can become waterlogged where the silencers can retain a great deal of water and are likely to be spitting water droplets almost continuously. Often the sound at the tailpipe will be more harsh than usual. Some manufacturers have a small hole at the lowest point of a silencer to allow surplus water to drain away and sometimes a mechanic will drill a hole... Spitting water and emitting steam is often seen as a sign of a failing head gasket and the confusion is understandable as it is a natural function and could be a symptom of head gasket trouble but it is a symptom that should not warrant much attention in isolation - clearly if a failing head gasket is the source of water spitting from the tailpipe, the coolant level will be mysteriously falling without obvious leakage and often the engine will suffer a misfire on starting...

Have the OBD read as this will give you the codes for any problems, I would think it's ignition related but OBD will narrow down the fault

2002 chevy impala 3.4 temp gauge flucuation

A couple of things. Your thermostat could be stuck or you have air i your coolant system. Bleed your coolant system. If the coolant is low, you can also have that issue so check for a coolant leak. If you check your oil and it looks like chocolate milk, then you could have a blown head gasket. Check all of these first.

Headlights will not work, it does have daytime running lights 2002 chevy impala

Did you do a good visual inspection of the headlight area for anything obvious? Perhaps the crash jacked up your wiring. If you had to jimmy the switch to get high beams to work, that tells me the switch could be the problem. Take a look at a wiring diagram and do some basic troubleshooting if you have a multimeter. Here is a link with a couple of diagrams and suggestions that were given to another person with this problem. The headlight on my 2002 impala quit working All fuses are
