1999 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe 2D AUTOMATIC has LOW
Low piston pressure can be caused by worn rings, or more likely a broken valve of some sort.
I would have the engine looked over by the dealer or an engine specialist. Be warned that after 10 years some parts become discontinued at GM, but the dealer I am told is the best place to go for many repair jobs, although they may be more expensive than aftermarket shops.
Good luck on this repair.
Where is the blower resistor located to replace
Hi, the manual says it's on the blower:
-
Remove the front floor kick-up panel.
- Remove the cover from the I/P electrical center.
- Remove the BLO MOT (blower motor) MaxiFuse No. 49 from the I/P electrical center.
- Remove the right side instrument panel lower insulator panel.
- Disconnect the blower motor resistor electrical connector from the blower motor.

Check the IAC valve. The Idle Air Control valve. The IAC valve located near the throttle body behind the engine near the firewall. If the valve checked out faulty of it is got dirty then idle will not be controlled and this problem can be seen,.Also check the O2 sensors and EGR valve too.Thanks.Helpmech.

This is a pretty common problem on a lot of different models of Chevrolet. I think they should have done a recall on this. But it is the actual switch that causes this. There are a lot of people that think that it is the circuit card in the actual motor. But they end up spending a couple of hundred dollars and still having the same problem.
I need to reinstall the

Have you thought about the safety Interlock? The Park and Neutral positions allow the Starter to crank and the engine to run. There is also a position sensor on the clutch for stickshifts so that the clutch (and brake?) have to be depressed to start the engine.
With an Automatic its easier to envision the slide switch moving so when you chose a gear, it kills the engine.( But remains running in P or N.)
All at once, the turn
Pull the steering wheel and clean the turn signal switch and look for broken parts. If that doesn't fix it, then replace the turn signal wand on the steering column.

You have a fault occurring in the factory anti-theft security system, the only way to find out what fault is causing this is to have the GM dealer hook up a scanner to watch the system and see what exactly is going on to cause the shutdown, the system is way to complex to guess not to mention horribly expensive to repair, so guessing is a really bad idea. I am a fellow Vette owner and now what I am saying is the straight dope.
