How do you change the

First thing to do, is take your new pump out of the box, and glue the two gaskets to it with really good silicone sealer, such as permatex right stuff. Put a thin layer of this on the engine mating surface also. DO THIS NOW. Assuming v8, v6 is very similar. drain coolant, remove 4 bolts which hold on upper fan shroud, remove fan blade, either four nuts on studs, or one large nut behind fan. Notice i didn't say remove belt, as that will aid in fan removal. If you have the one large nut variety, most parts houses will rent you the tool. remove serpentine belt, Now remove the lower hose( and wonder why you drained the coolant, as the rest will come out now and make a mess) There are only four bolts holding the pump to the engine. A 9/16 socket will remove them. Clean the threads off on the mounting bolts. Apply a small amount of sealer to the threads. Go and get your new pump the one that has the gaskets now glued to it, (see why the first step was so important)Start your bolts carefully, torque to spec(we all say this but usually we don't) reverse removal procedure, and refill coolant. Bob's your uncle!

When I sat the truck

Too many items that can do that but, Though this sounds silly, take a length of hose (Couple of feet of old garden hose will do). Hold one end on your ear and use the other end as a directional microphone. When you get close to the source of the noise, the sound will be much louder. Chances are you have a split vacuum hose somewhere, but whatever it is, you will find it!!

I CHANGED MY ROTORS AND

Unfortinatly your pads and rotors may have had nothing to do with this. It sounds like either really bad rear wheel cylinders or a bad master cylinder. I would tell you the master cylinder is the problem though.

I have a 1995 Chevy

check the wiring on top of the transmission. there is an electrical plug for the speed sensor, if it is loose, the veh will not shift correctly. get someone to remove it, reset the wires in the plug and clean the female end of the plug on the transmission. I have the same problem. It jumps from first to 3rd then back and forth then finally stays in 3rd. I pushed the wires in to set them in deeper on the plug and it seems to help.

I have a 95 Tahoe with 158000 miles. In Maryland

could be a slight air leak on the exhaust like a small rust hole and its drawing in the air ,the proper way is to put a probe up the tailpipe but without knowing what the results were its very difficult to diagnose ,was it too high on O2 as this signifies a hole in the exhaust ,was it too high on CO or CO2 ,You see our test is every year on vehicles over ten years of age and it also includes a mechanical test as well but the emmisions is done with a probe not the OBDII as very few europeon vehicles can be read via the OBDII as they nearly all use encrypted software now from 2005 .

I have a 1995 chev.

Ok if you have 1st and second gear and it shifts to neutral instaed of 3rd , that means the 3-4 clutches are burned up.This is common problem with the 4L60E transmission and the transmissionwill need to be removed and rebuilt ot repaired. The 3-4 clutches are the weak point in the trans and i usually use a z-pack when rebuilding them.It increases hold capacity and durability.

95 tahoe 5.7 liter engine. I ran out of gas twice

Did you replace distributor cap and rotor? These are common on these engines. If you pull the cap, look at the contacts on the cap. You will probably find a lot of build up on them.

If i heard a loud

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

Pretty much a faulty torque converter. The torque converter controls the shifting of the car that when it's faulty the car tends not to move. Have it checked and replaced if necessary.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!
