Rocker panels are rusted out
It won't be cheap. The rusted panels have to be cut out and new sheet metal welded in place. Most people just live with it.
Car runs fine unless i push one of the buttons on the doors like the window up e power seats then the car turns off and wont start for a few mins and down or th
pull the plastic door/floor trim driver side front. find the ground plate. it will be like a metal plate plugged into what looks like a diagnostic port, about 3 inches long and thin. pull this plate out. (it may take some doing. wiggle it with a pair of needle nose pliers til it comes out) you will see it looks like multiple blade connectors. clean it and the wiring harness you took it out of with contact cleaner and brillo pad. re install. these are bad for getting corroded from people leaving window down. once corroded they will heat up, and act almost like a breaker. when you use your window, they heat even more and lose ground, your fuel pump is on this ground as well as power seats and windows (dont know why). I hope this saves you alot of money and hassle that I went thru replacing fuel pumps and relays, before I got desperate and started tracing wires bumper to bumper. pass on the goodwill. goodluck.
I have a 1994 buick lesabre, it idles fine however
If t dies hard - feeling like the trani is not disigaging when you stop - it could be a electronic part inside the trani.. This part tells the stall converter to kick in at a stop.. Not super expensive to fix.. But best done by a trani shop....
Trying to change a thermostat on a 1982 buick
Locate the upper radiator hose. Follow it to the engine. The housing that the hose goes into is where the thermostat is located. The housing should have 2 or 3 bolts. Pay attention to how the old thermostat is positioned when you take it out. Hope this helps.
Battery is good but when I turn it on it just clicks won't start, maybe after 20 times it starts
Without hearing the sound it makes - it's kind of hard to diagnose. The engine starting process consists of turning the key to start, the starter motor's rotor moving forward to engage the engine's flywheel, and then the starter motor 's "rotor" spinning until you move the key from "start" to "run". You can hear the starter motor spinning - but one usually can't hear the rotor moving forward to engage the flywheel. As a result, you hear the odd spinning sound - which is the starter rotor spinning. The engine never actually turns over because the rotor never engages the fly wheel. If this is the case, then it is very likely that your starter needs to be checked and / or replaced.Good luck!
