THE TURN SIGNAL FLASHER IS LOCATED AT LOWER RIGHT CORNER OF FUSE BLOCK (OLD STYLE) THE HAZARD FLASHER IS LOCATED AT UPPER CORNER OF FUSE BLOCK

Check for vacume leaks. Hoses and around intake gaskets.spray some carb cleaner around intake gaskets.

As far as tranny check or replace the speed control on the tranny. There should be an inner and outer.the second sounds like a temp control module.

If you are reffering to the fuel tank sending unit, the fuel tank will have to be removed for access. Once removed, you can remove the sending unit by removing the lock ring securing it to the tank. Depending on rust/corrossion, the lock ring may require some patience to remove. Once the ring is removed the unit pull right out of the tank

is it really oil or sooty water ,moisture if it is oil, motor would be smoking big time

The Circuit Board on your Car (inside the Wiper Motor) is bad, $15 part and easy to replace... I have done these over 100 times..

check to see if you have cracks or leaks in the lenses any leaks will result in premature failure

could be an gasket leek on manafold

you have a leaky brake booster from the sounds of it

Battery not holding a charge,or dash lights not working,and other circuits that may have a fusible link,follow your positive cable and all wires from being burnt or melted.

Check relay or if it's aftermarket radio I bid you Godspeed cuz it's probably the wiring then ??? Auto shops have repair books you can buy for twenty bucks that provide info on things like this.

Lack of oil after a while would cause the engine to seize. Too much heat and not enough oil to lubricate the parts, things will fuse together and make the engine junk. A problem staying started could be many things: spark plugs, electrical problems, etc.

As I recall, that was around the time GM was making the change from carburetors to throttle body injection . There should be a very small filter inside the carb, just behind where the fuel line connects to it . Disconnect the battery, disconnect fuel line from carb and reach in with small needle nose pliers to remove. Also there was a "sock" filter located in the gas tank itself but, I'd check the carb filter 1st.
If it's throttle body, I think there was only the filter in the tank but, I'm not 100% sure on that. Your local GM dealer should have references available to let you know for sure.
