Engine control module replacement

An engine control module (ECM) is a computer that controls various engine functions in a vehicle. It receives input from sensors throughout the vehicle and uses this information to control the fuel injection system, ignition system, and other engine functions. If you are considering replacing the engine control module in your car, it is important to make sure that this is the correct repair for the problem you are experiencing. The ECM can be a costly part to replace, and replacing it without properly diagnosing the problem first can be a waste of money if it does not fix the issue. If you are unsure about whether the engine control module is the cause of the problem you are experiencing, I recommend taking your car to a mechanic for a diagnostic test. They will be able to determine the cause of the problem and advise you on the best course of action.

Cars is making a noise when i coast

I'm sorry to hear about the noise your car is making. It's difficult to diagnose a problem without hearing the noise or being able to see the car in person, but I'll do my best to help. It's possible that the noise you're hearing could be related to the transmission work that was recently performed on your car. It's also possible that the noise could be caused by a problem with another system in your car, such as the engine or exhaust. To properly diagnose the problem, I recommend taking your car to a mechanic as soon as possible. They will be able to inspect the car and identify the cause of the noise. In the meantime, try to pay attention to any other symptoms or changes in the way your car is running, as this may help the mechanic to identify the problem.

1997 oldsmobile 88 won't start the security light

Im guessing you tried to bypass the key in the ignition/steering column. This is ok unless the actual problem was in the TDM (theft deterrent module) In this case, the 2 wire bypass does nothing. There is another way to bypass this. Check out this link for tons of info and some DO IT YOURSELF options. Ive done several key bypasses and tons of full bypasses. They both work well, it just depends on what part is failing. I think you need the full bypass to eliminate that TDM.

Heater blower motor works intermittently

If it works only in the max position, the resistor thermal fuse has gone, a common problem in Passats. Napkin sell for 50p. If it also plays up on maximum then it could be a faulty switch or wiring.

97 Oldsmobile 88 after driving once motor is shut off will not crank until cool, had the control module tested it came back good, replace fuel pressure switch and still will not crank until cool?

You will need to replace the crank angle/position sensor near the crank pulley. A photo of the sensor is attached. The sensors wear out due to heat and cold cycles and internal corrosion. What is the probable cause(s) of DTC P0171?

Well code 171 means the computer thinks the fuel mixture is too lean on bank one. Bank one is the side with cylinder one. The problem could be low fuel pressure, or a faulty O2 sensor among other things.

This is a code for cylinder #6 misfire. Most likely a bad spark plug or ignition wire for that cylinder ( most common repair ). There are various other reasons for a cylinder misfire as well.

How to replace a heater core in a 1997 88

A heater core replacement on any vehicle is a very hard job. It would most likely involve taking the whole dash out of the car just to reach the heater and then you would have to open the heater box just to get to the heater core....If you have never done it before I would take the car to a service or repair center of your choice (it doesn't have to be a dealer). The money you spend will give you peace of mind because the job will be done correctly and if it gives you trouble, you have a warranty to fall back on. Much good luck

Hi have a 97 olds88 seatbelt chime will not

The sensor in the seatbelt is definatly not working, Sounds like an expensive repair for just a chime,
as a joke I would find the chime and unhook it. But seriously you might be able to find the wiring under the seat for the seatbelt and unplug it depending on the year but after 20 minutes of research all seatbelt replacements ive found say they come without electronic sensor anyway.
Good luck and hope I helped you out some....
I tried my best!
