Where is the reverse gear sensor switch on a 1998
Hi, You will have to get under the car to look for it. It is on the right side (passenger side) on the transmission. You will have to jack your vehicle up on jack stands for safety or ramps. Good luck

Bas asr light is on
Had same problem.
At the same time the cruise control aint working either ?
My solution, (how my problem was fixed was to change the
switch behind the break pedal, ie the switch which regulates yr
rear stoplights. In my case this switch was worn out and malfunctioned.
This is a 2min job, and part aint expensive.

Hi i had to jump
1. You should access the Transmission Control Module (TCM) using suitable diagnostic equipment, (Mercedes-Benz STAR or similar), connected to the data link connector of the car, in order to pull out all DTC's memored. DTC = Diagnostic Trouble Code. Then you will bu full informed about the root cause of the problem, and you will be able to erase all faults memored and reset the TCM.
2. Before you can try to disconnect the battery from car terminals, wait for 5 minutes, and reconnect back the battery, in order to reset the TCM. If this procedure will not work, you should go to step 1.
