The vehicle has an idle control motor that is on the throttle body behind the butterfly plate that regulates the idle. Sometimes it gets carboned up or can just fail and it will cause irratic idling. You can remove it an spray it with carb cleaner and reinstall it might help. If it doesn't you will have to replace it.

1995? it has 3 location 1 in the tank or on the side of the frame, more likey your fuel pump is in the tank and if in the tank the hose that feeds the FD in the tank is leaking, and thus no pressure to the fuel distributor

You need to re-sync it with the car. Open the door with the blade key and insert the key in the ignition. If the ignition light then the key has been reset.
If it does not you need to resit it. Place the key into the ignition, it may not turn at all, thats ok. Press the "LOCK" button on the key 5 times in a row, about a second each press, then press and hold down the "UNLOCK" button for about 15 seconds.
This should reset the key.

Try changing the battery in your remote

get a haynes manual at a parts place or chiltons online or library sec629

it is probablly either from a sparkplug not firing due to brocken/damaged ignition lead or dirty plug or if has a ditributor it may have dirty points as backfiring is from unburnt fuel going into the hot exhaust. could also be either the fuel pressure regulator or dirty injectors if it's fuel injected. also may be from a faulty air/fuel ratio sensor.

i JUST WENT THROUGH THIS WITH A FRIENDS CAR. HIS IS AN 89. SEEMS THERE IS NO TRUNK RELEASE EITHER IN THE GLOVE BOX OR ELSEWHERE. YOU HAVE TO USE THE KEY. IF NO KEY, GO THROUGH THE BACK SEATS. GOOD LUCK

Take the cover off at the base of the wiper arm. There is a mechanical mechanism under there that causes the wiper to move out and in as it swings back and forth. Most likely it needs lubricated under there. Dont use w d 40 as it wont last long. Use a lightweight grease like silglyde, and coat all the moving surfaces. I did this to mine and havent had to touch it again for several years.

Clutch or slave cylinder failure is the most likely cause.

The fuse no.# 33 - F33 (15A) placed under bonnet in the fuse box engine bay, is for central locking. See picture below:

Possible short in wiring to courtesy step lamp in lower edge of door.

Will need to check wiring in door and where it goes through to the A pillar.

The window is also powered so loom to window may be culprit but being it was not opening or closing at the time, maybe not.

Economic repair ? Oxymoron with a Mercedes. Check with a local independent repair shop , most don't want to mess with wiring problems.

Once the complete interior panel is removed you may see what needs work.

There is usually a screw on your Throttle body that you can adjust. and you can try to make it low. Good luck
