2000 Chevrolet Impala - Page 2 Questions & Answers
I have a 2000 Chevy impala with 131,500 miles on
catalytic converter, egr valve, oxygen sensors. If you have that many miles on it, try loosening the exhaust before the cat converter and try driving it. If your power has come back, then it has failed internally.

Head gasket 2000 impala
let the engine cool down enough to be able to take radiator cap off ... start car and see if there are any air bubbles coming out of the top - if there is then the leak is between combustion chamber and coolant port in join where gasket is - but if not then compression test will be needed but it may well be something else such as a module (eg air flow meter, oxygen sensor, fuel pump or bad spark...run a code reader on the electronic control unit if needed)

Why does 2000 impala turn signals stop working?
I am told it is a relay in emergency flasher circuit.
The quick fix is to activate emergency flashers just for a few cylcles , a minute or two after car has been running. The directionals will work fine for the duration of that ride.
I have heard of peolple remvoving trim to get at switch, cleaning contacts and components of switch, but symptom eventually re-appeared. Cycling through e-flashers a few times works every time for me. - Rick Rock
