How do u change the supercharger oil?

To change the oil on the supercharger that Buick Riviera is equipped with first remove the plastic cover directly over the supercharger. Next, stand on the passenger side of the vehicle and face the engine. You will be looking at the front of the supercharger. The oil fill port is located on the front portion of the supercharger along the right hand side as viewed from your position. It is a large hex plug. This is both the drain port and fill port. There are several ways to drain the oil. My personal favorite is a piece of rubber tubing and a large syringe. I have found this to be the quickest way. Once you have drained it use a funnel small enough to fit the fill port and take your time filling it. Fill it to just below the threads at the bottom of the oil port. Be careful not to overfill it. After you have replaced the oil plug I like to disconnect the coil wire. This allows the engine to turn over but not start up. It helps to circulate the new oil through out the supercharger that were drained dry. This is not required however. It is my own personal preference. From this point it's ready to go.

I need the timming specs in my 1966 buick riviera

The spark plug type is 44S and the gap is .032. The ignition points should be set at a 30 degree dwell angle or a .016 point gap. The ignition timing should be set at 2-1/2 to 3 degrees before top dead center, and the engine compression should be 170 psi. Let me know if you require a firing order diagram or any further assistance.

1996 buick riviera: drivers side

You need to remove the door panel and see if the widow came off the track or just a bad window motor. There are 5 screws and you should be able to remove the door panel with a flat bladed screw driver by prying out on the edges. Then remove the water deflector and you should be able to see the window motor and the track.Check and see if you are getting power to the motor.Should have battery voltage at motor at the 2 wire connector when pushing the up and down switch. If the voltage is good then replace the motor. If you don`t have battery voltage then check the wiring where it goes through the rubber boot protector between the door and the body.Sometimes they break from the door opening and closing so often.Let me know what you find.Hope this helps.Good luck.

1991 buick riviera 3.8 does

Hello Jesse.
The bolt is right hand thread.
You may need to hold the flywheel at the transmission if you are using a hand socket wrench. A pry bar in the teeth of the ring gear usually works but a helper is required to do this.
The bolt is in tight and will take some good effort to loosen.

Hello, I have 97 Riviera and

this problem is most likely due to the display needing the light bulbs replaced in it, they are hard wired into the circuit board and will take a very skilled hand to replace, they are tiny, u can buy them from radio shack, the part number is 7219 Micro Lamp. You will need 4 of them I think to fix your display, u can also find shops on the internet that can do this repair for u. As far as the commet dealers go i am a retired dealer technician and I never sold anything to any customer for his car that wasn't needed, that is in a 40 year career.

97 Riviera. Need replacement

The cheapest place I have found the sunroof motor for was RockAuto.com., and will set you back $428.79 and the clock spring is $75.99 w/o electronic control and $215.99 w/electronic controls. The only other option that may be worth a try for the motor assembly is a salvage yard. If one is found in a salvage yard/auto recycling yard in your area, it will be at a fraction of the cost. The clock spring I would purchase new.

Sunroof on 97 Riviera doesnt

99% of the time it is the Motor, in fact in the 35 years i have done electrical repair work on cars i have never replaced a sun roof control module, as far as the cost goes, the motor will be about $100 if it is still availiable, it will be a GM dealer part only and not available in the aftermarket, you should pay about 1 hour labor to replace it.

Horn on 1997 Riviera doesnt

In most cases this problem is caused by the rotating ribbon circuit contact under the steering wheel having a broken filament, this breaks the connection between the horn button and the horn relay, result no horn, the part is known as a clock spring contact, u will need to properly disarm the airbag and remove the steering wheel to access the part, so taking the steering wheel off is the next step and replacing the clock spring contact 99% of the time fixes this problem.
