Replace the fuel pressure regulator

you have a broken vacuum line going to the heater control module.It will be a black plastic line running though firewall from engine capartment.

run fault codes to check for injector problems . Have a fuel pressure test done on the fuel manifold to check the regulator --pump and firlter

look up your timing setting and use a timming light to set the timming.

it sounds like the electric cooling fan on the radiator is hitting something,and making it run too slow

It may be tough to troubleshoot if you can't duplicate the problem in the shop. Especially on a car that old. Someone will have to check for fuel pressure and spark when it fails to start and then go from there. Could be a long list of things without knowing where to start looking.My guess would be a relay or the ignition module get hot and then cool down. But that is only a guess.

How old is the fuel pump?Check fuel pressure with a gauge on the enginefuel rail port.Have someone listen by fuel tank for pump,when youcycle the ignition on & off

double check the coil pack wiring to be sure they are correct-popping through the intake is usually an indication of bad mechanical timing (I know you said you checked it but that is a big possibility) or a leaking intake valve-or wires not run properly to the plugs.
