You should feel a temperature gradient across the radiator (hot at bottom, cooler at top) if the cooling fluid is circulating properly. If not, you are not getting proper circulation. All things being equal, check the thermostat again - if it was installed incorrectly or is faulty (not unusual), it is not opening and will cause this. Otherwise, you have a blockage somewhere in the system (such as a collapsed hose or blocked port at the pump).

Here is a suggested updated torque spec for this engine's rocker arm bolts;

Step one: Torque to 11 ft lbs then tighten an additional 90 degrees of bolt head rotation. Some guys don't fuss with the torque specs and just get them good and tight. Either way, be careful, as the heads are aluminum. You do not want to over tighten these bolts
Where is the ecu computer located
I will tell you if you tell me what type problem your having . Plus if your planning to replace it ,it does need programming . An the dealer is pretty much the only one who can do that . I know there are no more Oldsmobile dealers any more . A Chevy , Cadillac , Buick , Dealer would be my choice. I work for A Cadillac dealer an see a number of Pontiacs an Oldsmobile vehicles needing the same work .
Using a scan tool, retrieve the percentage of remaining engine oil. Record the remaining engine oil life.
Remove the coolant reservoir retaining fastener. Remove the coolant reservoir and set aside. Remove the 3 bolts from the strut brace. Remove the left front strut brace. Loosen the two bolts the PCM cover and remove the PCM cover from the air cleaner housing. Remove the PCM from the air cleaner housing. Disconnect the PCM electrical connectors.
Left turn flash rapidly but bulbs are ok
Most people miss the side marker bulbs. Check the right side again, notice all the bulbs that flash. Make sure the left side is flashing the same bulbs. If they are, the turn signal switch is bad. I personally would live with it. They are a pain to remove and are pricey.
How to change the starter on a 2003 Oldsmobile silhouette
The starter should be down low on the front of vehicle. Take negative battery cable loose. Safely raise and support the front of vehicle. There are safety issues with working under a vehicle, safety is your responsibility.
Remove the following.
P0620 generator control circuit
code po620 refers to alternator control--circuit malfunction===causes--wiring---alternator --- battery---ECM
Check that the wiring is good and terminals are tight. Have a load test done on the battery to check for failing cell that will not take a charge. Ensure that the battery posts and terminals are shiny clean. Have the alternator bench tested for out put.
