1996 Oldsmobile Aurora - Page 8 Questions & Answers
P0101, p0171
P0171 is more than likely due to the intake plenum gasket being cracked. Common on these cars. About a $30.00 part, not too hard to replace.
My license plates light dont work nd i chaged the
Check the ground wires coming from the lights. Often times these are connected to the bumper or frame and can rust or deteriorate. With no ground the lights won't work. I assume you've checked the hot wires to the lights with a test light and they have power to them.
My window just stop working
if it is only driver`s window that stopped working, then it won`t be a fuse related problem. Wiggle the main switch on your door. Could be the switch or possibe window motor or regulator. You will have to remove the inside door panel to diagnose motor or regulator..
Rear window will not go up. how do you replace
See if you have power at the rear switch (a simple circuit tester works for this). If you do, then check the switch itself. If you have power on both sides of the switch then it's time to tear off the panel and see if you have power to the switch, if you do and the ground is good, the motor is probably shot. New ones are pricey, I'd head to my local salvage yard for a replacement.
IF.... you DON'T have power at the switch you may have broken wire inside the rubber boot at the drivers door. Over time, the opening and closing of the door flexs the wires and they sometimes break. I have had this happen more times than the motors going bad.
It's just a process of elimination.
Good Luck
The right rear window in
Most likely the window has a broken gear or guide wheel, internally on the window regulator. Also possible window motor. Least likely is the window switch. Can you pull the window up by hand even a few inches, if so the problem is the regulator. If you can not, the most likely it is the motor.

I have 1996 oldsmobile aurora it start but cut out
i just had my coil pack replaced. .. .i had a misfire in #8 then random misfires. .. i changed the #6/8 and it didnt make a bit of difference. ..
before that i thought i had a fuel leak or a leak in the air intake.
if i was stopped at a light, the rpm would move up and down slightly. . the car would act as if it wanted to leap forward. and sometimes it would just cut off at a light so i would keep it in neutral . . .at one point. it would take me 4 or 5 tries to start it up. . i changed the fuel pressure regulator then it worked ok for a minute then back to the same. ..
anyway turned out to be the whole coil pack that needed replacing
P0717 code
input/turbine speed sensor circuit no signal check the sensor for problems than check the wiring to and around the turbo for damage or connection problem -if good than check the wiring circuit itself for same problem -the computer is not getting a signal from the turbo
When I get past 60
It's probably more than just the gas pedal shaking. Have the wheels balanced and see if that helps.
