Engine stalling
ignition control module shuts car off when gets hot and will start after it cools on a 94 its under coilpack easy fix
Car frequently dies while driving.
Hi,sorry i was not able to find any other Fixya experts to help with your problem, but I can offer some other generic faults which would cause the symptom you describe.
Most modern cars which use electronic fuel injection and ignition have basically the same components so here we go..
1) Fuel pressure, the fuel pump can cause intermittent shut down of engine as this unit works with mostly unfiltered fuel.
Try starting engine and closely listen to pump which is fitted inside fuel tank, if you here loud humming, this is usually a sign that the pump is not 100% and may suddenly seize, cool down and start running again...can be a little tricky to check, also if you can drive vehicle and fault occurs, fuel pump will only run while engine is running and also approx 10 seconds after ignition is turned on, so you will probably need some else to switch ignition on while you listen.
2) Air flow and throttle position sensors are very hard working components of the injection system, the problem is that they are very difficult to diagnose particularly with the limited information I have to work with in this situation.
3) Ignition system has computer, crack angle sensor and many other too many to mention, but I have found the most common is coil pack/s or ignition power supply solenoid.(The one that clicks in engine bay when ignition switch is turned to the "on" postion.
P.S If you can forward a more detailed descrition of what happens when the vehicles fails maybe I could shed more light on the matter.
Regards MMP
My car will not stay running
it seems you have a leak in your fuell pump.can you see many bubbles if you put the fuell line in a bottle and start.also check air filter and gas filter.leaks in fuell pump is hardly not to see whit naked eye.thats why use a transparent bottle.
Looking to get a key made for my 1994 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight.
There are 15 possible different chip keys that are used on your car. You need to have the correct one or else the antitheft will shut you down. Here is a link that explains the system and gives you the 15 possible key ratings. Plus some ways to get around it, if that proves to be easier.http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/
,no injector pulse has fuel pressure, in good
If its the passkey, there will be a light illuminated on the dash that says SECURITY. If you see that light, that is the problem. This link will help

Need to know oil type
10W30 will be fine for a car with under 100 K miles. I usually go up to 10W40 when driving in very hot temps or when my moter is getting a bit more worn. It takes 5 Qts. with a filter change. 4 Qts without.
