Service engine soon light just went on what do i do ?

I suggest scanned the PCM (computer) ir odere to know what fault code is stored there; note this code number and come back again to send you tips to diagnostic and solve it. Sometimes Autozone or AutoShop with OBD scanner reader make this job for free.Keep us updated.

Car runs like its running out of gas

Sounds like there may be an issue with the secondary ignition. Check the plugs and wires to see if they are worn out. Spray the wires with soapy water, if you see or hear the snap of electricity coming from them they are bad. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them.
