93 cutlass supreme broken how
I had this problem when the locking mechanism rusted up. I had to go in through the bottom on the front side of the radiator to force the rotating lock open enough to get the hood to pop and then I could open it up completely. No real good way to do it that I can see beyond that...it was a pain, but I got.

Where is the valve cover
All of the motors in these were V6s. Think of your engine block as the letter V, at the top of each side of the V are your cylinder heads. Sitting on top of the cylinder heads are the valve covers. The gaskets are located underneath the valve covers and are there to prevent the oil inside from leaking out. Since your car is front wheel drive your engine is mounted transverse. So one valve cover will be near the back of the engine compartment and the other will be toward the front. Hope this helps.

adjustment is required during routine maintenance. Tampering with the
minimum idle speed adjustment is highly discouraged and may result
inPremature failure of the IAC valve.
Engine idle speeds are controlled by the ECM through the IAC valve
mounted on the throttle body. The ECM sends voltage pulses to the IAC
motor windings causing the IAC motor shaft and pintle to move in or out a
given distance (number of steps) for each pulse (called counts). The
movement of the pintle controls the airflow around the throttle plate,
which in turn, controls engine idle speed. IAC valve pintle position
counts can be observed using a scan tool. Zero (0) counts correspond to a
fully closed passage, while 140 counts or more correspond to full flow.
Idle speed can be categorized in 2 ways: actual (controlled)
idle speed and minimum idle speed. Controlled idle speed is obtained by
the ECM positioning the IAC valve pintle. Resulting idle speed is
determined by total air flow (IAC passage + PCV + throttle valve +
calibrated vacuum leaks). Controlled idle speed is specified at normal
operating conditions, which consists of engine coolant at normal
operating temperature, air conditioning compressor OFF, manual
transmission in Neutral or automatic transmission in

Verify that the resistance between both sets of IAC terminals is
infinite. If the resistance is not infinite, the IAC may be faulty.

Also, with a small mirror, inspect IAC air inlet passage and
pintle for debris. Clean as necessary, as this can cause IAC
malfunction.

I have a major oil leak from the front of my car,
Check the oil pressure switch as it's next to the oil filter. You describe a car that hasn't had the oil changed often enough as the dirty oil is eating things up The switch the oil filter and the engine. The oil filter can leak too. These cars seldom leak if the oils is changed regularly (4 times a years or at least every 5000 miles.
I have a '93 Oldsmobile
you idle air control could be going out, this is a electric valve that controls your idle speed,it is not that hard to replace, just a couple screws and a electric connection plug..check around at the auto parts store and get a good price...this part should cost about $35-70 so check around because it is elecrtical it is not a returnable part. The part is located on your air intake just past your throttle plate.it is usually very easy to get to. Take you about 5 min. to replace it youself. Your car is at the right age for this part to be going out. I would change it out if i were you. As far as when you push on the gas that could be caused by your thottle position sensor, also a part that will be going out soon,it acts like a accelerator pump, which could be causing you sputtering when you push on ths gas petal..I would look at replacing both these parts, they are easy to replace and will keep you from getting stranded and at the mercy of some of the Auto Mechanic Ripoffs.......
Car wont turn over replaced ignition control
If it doesn't turn over at all, it could be the crankshaft or camshaft sensor, is your security light staying on? If so, it could be your security system, passlock was installed in many gm's and caused alot of problems. Have your starter checked at autozone or advance, they check them for free. If it is the security system youtube shows how to bypass the passlock system. Also, check to see if your car is getting fuel. Hope this helps.
Where is the thermostat located
if you follow the upper radiator hose to where it connects to the engine. drain anti freeze a
little(to get below hose, remove hose from thermostat housing, remove 2 bolts & remove housing
the thermostat will pull out.make sure you install the same way(spring end toward engine)
if new thermo has a small hole in it(some do)make sure its up 12 o'clock position.
reconnect & refill system.there are air bleeders in system 1 at thermo housing & possibly
1 around the water pump.after car is running you need to open bleeder to allow trapped
air out.CAR WILL OVER HEAT IF ITS NOT BLED
top off system after bleeding
good luck
Need to know where exactly the control module is
Visit Autozone.com and look at their online repair manuals. Most computers are in either the driver or passenger kick panels under the dash just in front of the door, in the engine bay, under one of the front seats, or behind/under the radio in the dash.
Both door handles broke on
u can pry the window frame open a little slide a block to keep it open and slip anything u can hook the inside door handle to open door some parts stores sell these
At first my 1997 Oldsmobile
This sounds more like the thermostat is not opening as it should, instead of an ECM problem.
With the indications you state - goes down when heater activated - goes down when moving, that is what I would have checked first, not the cooling fan!
