2001 Dodge Grand Caravan - Page 3 Questions & Answers
Engine keeps cutting out while driving. rpm gauge needle keeps jumping up and down. sometimes stalls and takes afew minutes to get it to start back up. acts like it is not getting gas.
Or not having spark will feel the same way . Could be a lot of things , ignition module , crankshaft position sensor , camshaft position sensor .Is your check engine light on ? No matter , first place to start is hook up a scan tool an check for code's , Pending or history ! If there are no codes check engine sensor data PID'S ! If everything looks good there , check the spark at the plug wire , looking for a nice blue arc . If the spark is good do a fuel pump pressure test or spray some carburetor cleaner in the throttle plate an see if it starts then , if it does then you have fuel delivery problem . I would not say a fuel pump problem because they either work or don't work ! From experience I'd say you have a crank sensor or ignition module problem !
Back up light
First place I would check is the fuse panel, and secondly check your bulbs
Why do headlights alter on and off?
Your light control module is bad.
It is the silver box that attaches to the fuse box under the hood.
The contacts are going bad. You may be able to get around this by loosening the screws of the module, and putting in a shim either under the screws or behind the module so that it is not straight. This will cause the contacts to press against the sides, making a better contact. Another fix would be to make a fused wire connecting the high beam of one light to the high beam of the other, and the same for the low beam. You will need at least a 12 guage wire with a 40 amp fuse to do this.
Starter fuse location
Check the fuse box panel cover under the dash or the main fuse panel under the hood. The owners manual will help as well. You want to look for the Starter Fuse Relay Switch fuse Not the Starter Fuse. Hope that helps you out.
