99 grand caravan- one brake light works, the other doesnt. checked fuses, checked bulb, both are fine.

Get a test light and check for power. If you got power check the ground, and the contacts, if not follow the hot wire back to the brake switch to locate the short.

Serpentine belt on my 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan (3.8L engine) has slipped off twice in last 6 months when the road is wet and I make an aggressive turn. Can I convert to a grooved tensioner and idler

There are 'solution kits' available for this issue. It involves replacing the tensioner pulley and the idler pulley and installing a double sided belt. They are available from Gates, Continental, and AC Delco at RockAuto at the link. http://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/dodge,1999,grand+caravan,3.8l+v6,1354069,belt+drive,belt+drive+component+kit,10660

1999 Dodge Grand Caravan heat is cold

There are two possibilities, one is the thermostat. Many people remove them which spoils the whole heating / cooling system. Since you changed the thermostat, I would check the heater valve on the heater which allows the hot water to circulate through the heating system. It may be necessary to remove the heater box and flush the heater core since you talk about a lot of rust, which could have clogged the heater core and / or the pipes leading to the heater.

Noise sounds like a metallic chirp from valve train.

To narrow it down, while the engine is running, don't get near moving parts, you can use a long piece of steel, metal, put 1 end on the valve cover, the other to your ear and listen for rattling. You can move it around to narrow down the source of the noise. It's like a stethoscope but works well. I use a 3' long screwdriver.

Cant remove oil fill cap on my 1999 dodge grand caravan

if it is stripped you can remove the top have with a screwdriver by prying up. The bottom half will stay in the valve cover. Use a channel lock to remove the lower half. Very common problem. I’m happy to assist further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/jeremy_d728a59f986299fa

I replaced my starter for my van, but it still wont start, yet all the lights and windows work perfectly fine. what could it be?

Check your battery voltage. It may be enough to operate the accessories but not enough to start the engine. Use a volt meter on the battery or buy a plug in volt meter that can be used in the cigarette lighter. Auto stores sell them. The voltage reading should be a minimum 12 volts, if it drops below 10 volts while turning the ignition key, then the battery needs to be charged or replaced. Good luck!

My right rear wheel on a 1999 dodge caravan locked up

There are a few things that can cause this, you will have to remove the wheel and brake drum to inspect it . Seized wheel bearing, grease or oil on brake linings, seized cable,if hydraulic seized wheel cylinder pistons. If the linings have oil or grease on them replace them on both sides for even braking.

The remote starter keeps trying to start the van without the key in it and the remote was at home and t is killing the battery how do i disconnect the remote starter

Under the dash on the drivers side is where the remote start will be installed. There should be at least 2 fuses that are located in the remote start wiring harness, you can remove these fuses and it will disable the remote start from activating

I have all the lights except brake lights when i hit the pedal turning signals work and tail lights work fuses all good what do i do

check the brake pedal switch. It will be up under the dash mounted on a bracket. the button of the switch is pushed in by the lever of the brake pedal. There will be a multi wire connector. One wire should have power all the time. One of the other wires should have power with the brake pedal depressed. if no other wires power up than the switch is bad. Rotate it i believe counter clockwise to disengage from the bracket. I’m happy to assist further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/jeremy_d728a59f986299fa
