05 suburban z71 defrost blows on the floor won't

Sounds like a vacuum line came off the bellows located behind and under the dash. Has someone been working on the blower?

You'll need to look under the dash with flash light to see if you can gain access to the vacuum lines. The bellows look like small rubber inflatable boots that the vacuum line hooks up to.

Random misfire after new spark plugs and wires

Check the firing order. If it wasn't happening before then that's most likely your culprit. For a 2005 Chevy Suburban the firing order is as follows;
1-8-7-2-6-5-4-3

Another thing to check is resistance in the plugs and wires. Check to make sure they all have the factory specified resistance.

Overheating

I had the same problem with my Suburban. I was loosing water. Turned out to be a small crack in the plastic end cap just below the neck where the hose attaches. Had to replace the radiator which was not very hard. You should start with a pressure test of the system to see if you can find a leak. Some autopart stores will do this for you. Also have them check your pressure cap. You should also look at the water in your radiator to see if it has any rust or oil in it. If none of this reveals the problem the next thing to do is replace the thermostat. They are cheap and can cause problems after 100k miles. I is under the neck fitting on the engine where the top water hose attaches. If you still have problems then it may be change the water pump time.( Check the belt first) Water pumps usually have a small hole in the bottom of the housing which will start leaking water when the pump is going bad. If it is dripping water when the engine is running and hot then it is time to change the pump.
Good Luck

The engine light went on

Could be anything. Stop an autoparts store and they will scan it for free. Let me know and we can go from there. Unless it's really simple, like a loose gas cap.
